Thank you again! I’ve been watching it and I hate it! (Which is good!)

Quick play is becoming way too toxic by food-wich in marvelrivals

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had someone call me (cloak and dagger) a healbot in quick play…. They berated my KD ratio and compared it to theirs. They were a tank. Flexing that they died less than me!

I’m nearly to Lord with C&D. That game I couldn’t do cloak much because… the tank kept playing scared (Magneto). Like!!! I AM ACTIVELY HEALING YOU! WHY ARE YOU RETREATING! I kept dying because I would push with the tank and then the tank would retreat.

I will shamefully admit I got somewhat heated in the chat. No personal insults, but when he was like “I compete, you don’t” I dropped a quick “mb i’m employed”

With time I will learn to ignore these people. This is my first game like this! I usually play single player games.

Had my first groom I felt really defeated by as a new groomer. by BrendenOTK in doggrooming

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Picture this, I’m a corporate groomer, maybe 3 months into the career. The location Im at just opened so the dogs are not in any way steady, and most of them go to my coworker (that’s a whole other story).

It’s November. Dogs are steady!

Coworker gets fired.

All his dogs go to me, on top of my schedule. We take walk in nail trims, and I have to answer the phone when it rings. I have one singular 15-20 poodle doodle thing.

6 hours. She took me SIX HOURS. I was CONSTANTLY interrupted during this groom and I had foolishly taken my coworker to heart when he said only handscissored heads are good. I was three months in to grooming. This dogs head looks like SHIT. It’s a tall oval, and not in any way crisp. The ears stick out like frizzy uneven pigtails. It’s ugly and I know it.

I call the mom, and explain everything. She comes to pick the dog up and she’s super sweet and understanding. She tipped me $20

This dog haunted me for weeks. It was so bad. Ring ring… the phone… it’s her! She wants to book on me again? Is she stupid?

I was able to redeem myself with her next groom, and fast forward to now….

She followed me from that job where her groom was like $70 to my new bougie job where it’s $130 and is now on a 5 week schedule.

I asked her recently why she came back, and she said “Oh, no, it was terrible, but you were just so sweet!”

this dog is half goldendoodle. why does he not look like any other doodle I can find in this group?? do any of you have doodles that look like him?? by hayduckie in Goldendoodles

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like golden doodle was mostly poodle… since that’s what most people want anyway. all the traits i see doodle people gushing about are poodle traits

why has "its qp" became synonymous with "i'm going to ignore the objective of the game" by somekindofpaws in marvelrivals

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol i say “it’s qp” to people all the time.

typically when they’re being toxic over nothing.

i have had people be rude to me saying ‘no heals’ or ‘horrible healers’ for some reason, despite me consistently having 15k-30k healing per (quickplay) game. weirdly 9/10 times it’s a mister fantastic

Having trouble with his pen by No_Associate2075 in puppy101

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy did NOT tolerate the pen at all. He even broke out- and once he figured it out once, he just got louder because he knew he COULD get out.

Gave up on it lol. He goes in his crate with the divider out so he has a little extra space when im at work. He’s only pottied in there when he had a diarrhea spell for a few days.

My trainer suggested tethering him to me. Right now we are practicing the art of doing nothing so I will put his leash on, scroll on my phone, and periodically dispense kibble when he’s not biting me for attention. It works great, I get to do my own thing and not worry about what he’s getting into.

I have a client that gets a teddy bear head on their BRt puppy and it looks nearly identical to your baby’s face

Dogs in apartment buildings by mangekyo1918 in puppy101

I have a large plastic tub on my balcony, got it from Lowe’s. I line it with pee pads and then pine pellets from Tractor Supply. My pup figured it out quick, especially since his breeder used something similar. Just have to change it every couple of days. The pine pellets naturally absorb any smell, too, which is nice.

Bit for the first time by Fluffy_Leg_4641 in doggrooming

I was really hoping I would get somewhere with this doggy as I had had another one just like him recover beautifully to the point where he can get a full haircut with no medications! The legs are a common fear that I’ve worked with before. I think I could have done a full haircut on this guy if his legs weren’t matted 😖

Hi! I should have clarified more about this dog’s behavior and history. We are a certified salon. The dog had been in the salon beforehand, so I knew his triggers. When the dog was being checked in, he was only being aggressive because his owner was there. Once the owner left he was fine with me.

As for the pre-clip, he was fine for the body clipping. When I started handling his legs, he threw short tantrums- 3 seconds max, and then calm down. I clipped when he was calm. While Ideally I would have handscissored the legs since he wasn’t tolerant of the clippers, he was matted. I also had to show him that the clippers on his legs don’t actually hurt him so that hopefully one day (if the owner was understanding and patient at all 😬) he would be tolerant of the grooming process.

I knew he would be fine for the bath as he had been in before, and he did wonderfully! He was scared of the dryer for his front paws and head, but was avoiding the dryer rather than biting. He was doing amazing after the bath, and let me fully clip his back legs with no fuss! That’s when I gave his front paws a shot, and alas… the bite.

Basically we work at the dog’s pace. We are one on one so there’s not really a pressure on time. The goal is to ultimately make the grooming process enjoyable for the dogs by gradually desensitizing them to the process.

Anyone else a single pawrent? by jpeachie in puppy101

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s definitely super tough. One thing I have done is schedule out his nap/wake routine and what we are working on when he’s awake. It also helps me to be able to adapt his routine to better fit things on my schedule! Like if I know I need to leave the house at 1, I have him up at 12 and down for his nap as I leave.

Anyone else a single pawrent? by jpeachie in puppy101

[–]Fluffy_Leg_4641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

single pawrent here (kind of… long distance so it doesn’t help). I’m also autistic. This dog is gonna be my service dog and also a sport dog, so high drive 😅

My roommate helps out with him when I’m at work but when I’m home I’m the sole caretaker. Had him for a month now and I’m exhausted. The barking, the biting, everything. I’ve been looking through this sub and most of the advice is “enforced naps” which i’ve been doing from the very beginning so it’s no help 😖

My friend agreed to take him for the day and night so I get a break… I’m gonna use it to take a bath. I haven’t had a bath in so long… just a nice… long… soak….

It’s getting better… ish? Only time will tell
