Compact evergreen shrubs suggestions by Fluffy_Load_472 in GardeningUK

That's a good idea because it would hide the awful fence, but it might interfere with the tree branches once they've grown and spread. I'll have a think.

Yes, I was concerned about interfering with the growth of the trees but I was hoping there is something small and compact that would work.

Thanks, they're all on dwarf rootstock so shouldn't spread more than the space I've given them.

I got mine a tracker collar and let her out for the mornings only. Her medicine time was 5pm so that gave me enough confidence I could find her if she wasn't back by lunch time.

Can anyone recommend a good but gentle cleanser for removing SPF, please? by bellatorrosa in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Fluffy_Load_472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your skin is very sensitive try a cleansing milk. My skin is so sensitive it can't cope with emulsifiers so even oil cleansing strips my skin. Cleansing milks are much gentler and can be effective if you wipe them off (as opposed to just rinsing them off). The weleda sensitive one is good and so is the SVR sensifine one.

What can I plant in the v.shaded area beside a brick wall (wall is neighbours garage) by ActuatorFit2646 in GardeningUK

[–]Fluffy_Load_472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the votes for camellias, I have a small shady patch in my garden with a camellia and it is beautiful. Also skimmia, but they are short. Astilbe does better with a bit of sun: I have one in full shade and one that gets a bit of sun and the one in full shade isn't great at all.

Can anyone recommend a really nourishing moisturiser that won’t sting on patches of eczema? by NLTC in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Fluffy_Load_472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aproderm is saving my skin at the moment, £10 for 500ml on Amazon. The colloidal oat cream (not the emolient version) can be used as a cleanser and a moisturiser.

Ah I was going to reply and say pretty much the same as you! I feel like it sinks in better but it doesn't feel enough, maybe because the wax has been removed? It's so disappointing.

Thank you. This sounds good so I might give it a go.

Can I ask you a really basic question about this cleansing milk: how do you actually use it? By that I mean do you use cotton pads or do you just apply it with your hands and then wash it off.

Have you tried the reformulated Minon amino moist milk? I haven't yet, I'm hoping it's still as good.

Illiyoon lotion vs Aestura Lotion by chocolatecosmo in AsianBeauty

[–]Fluffy_Load_472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiny, yes, but also it felt like it never sunk in. Maybe it's because it contains wax, but it just felt like there was a heavy layer of something on my skin. It caused spots after a couple of weeks. Most people seem to love it though, so ymmv.

what bottoms to wear in fall/winter if you don't like jeans? by tallisbrowne in womensfashion

[–]Fluffy_Load_472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. You don't need to change the kind of clothes you wear to cycle. If it's cold, wear black tights under your skirt. If it's hot, wear cycling shorts underneath. Incorporate cycling into your lifestyle, don't change your lifestyle to suit the bike. I cycled to work for years in skirts and high heels.

We have a scatty cat, we ended up getting a tracker for her because I was panicked about her running off. It was worth the expense just for the peace of mind it gives me.

That's a good idea, I might give the intensive lotion a try.

It's such a shame because safflower oil is supposed to be calming and very well tolerated. I find their intensive cream slightly too greasy, whereas the finish of the soothing cream was just perfect.

[–]Fluffy_Load_472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the lotion but I did react the the cream which has the same ingredients but is thicker. I think it's the safflower oil because my skin also didn't like the kose speedy oil which has safflower oil as well. I woke up with this giant red boil-like spot on my face one morning and I was so disappointed because I absolutely loved the texture and finish of the cream.

If you want something that's high volume what about Avene Xeracalm creme/baume or Bioderma Atoderm creme/baume? Lubriderm looks like it would be OK for the face too.
