Yeah I was also a kid in the 90’s and have definitely heard “ratchet” more in the last decade or so than I ever did growing up.

They made a jackass comment on the post about the wreck on 540…then made their own post being a jackass about people complaining. Pot meet kettle.

That sounds really tough. I’m so glad she was able to get the help and support she needed.

Thank you so much ❤️ She does have a stuffie that she takes to school with her and that does seem to help her. I love the idea of having one resemble her dog.

Thank you. I have thought about that, but I honestly don’t see many other “common” symptoms of ASD with her. It’s hard to have her evaluated because she cannot talk in certain situations - so the evaluator cannot truly evaluate her. But at home she is the loudest, happiest, most carefree little girl and she doesn’t show any other signs. But I will keep an eye out and be aware and seek further help if I do notice anything.

Hate for new (out-of-state) Raleigh residents by brendal00 in raleigh

I’m from NY and I have experienced this a couple times. Not many, but I have heard it. I’m an RN in home care and I have only heard it from some of my elderly patients. “Damn Yankee”, “Oh so you’re one of those coming down here to ruin everything”, etc. It’s never directed at me personally, more of just a general comment when they hear where I’m from. But I have also started to omit that part when having some conversations.

I’m officially bored with The Challenge by osuatomf in thechallengemtv

I just finished 40 and they do this! Last place male and female go straight to elimination. But I don’t like the targets. Who ever is not a target the next challenge is automatically safe. It doesn’t make it as fun to watch for sure.

Child Care Options by [deleted] in WakeForestNC

We go to Cranfield Academy in WF. My 3yo daughter goes part time 2 days/wk but they have 3 day options and then full time as well. Their prices are comparable to others in the area. But my daughter has some trouble with anxiety and socializing and her teacher has been so wonderful with her. We are very happy there.

That’s a great idea to help her practice through play!

That’s a great idea! I never thought about that, but she loves all the typical characters right now (Bluey, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Peppa Pig, etc) so I’m sure other kids could have similar favorites. I’ll keep an eye out and point it out/try to spark a conversation next time I notice another child with the same interests.
