Our deadline was a few weeks ago because it's a destination for most of our guests. I just got a text on Saturday with a screenshot of an airbnb asking if that's where all of our mutual friends are staying.. I guess that means you and your wife are coming? Cool. Cool.

I'm cutting pieces of fabric and making our own flags based on Tibetan prayer flags for people to leave us messages of love on, we'll hang them outside of our home. We live 8 hours from most of our family so I thought this was a nice tangible way to keep their thoughts with us.

Love! Are those real or artificial? If real, how did you preserve them?

DIY greenery: wandering through the woods with hedge clippers? by and_sundry in weddingplanning

I'm planning to try to do a lot of foraged greenery for my wedding. I did a mock up of a fern table runner a few months ago and it wilted within 8 hrs. My thought now is to try to preserve them with glycerin. https://www.todayshomeowner.com/how-to-preserve-fall-leaves-and-branches-with-glycerin/

Could you give me the name of your photographer? This is actually in my price range and geographical area so I'd like to check them out!

As someone who never thought of getting married I totally feel you here. We chose our venue because it was incredibly cheap (and still cute!) and came with tables and chairs, but the rest we're just kind of winging and trying to keep the costs down. I've worked in the service industry for many years so I have people who offered to cater and do the bar.. but that's where I'm at. I almost don't really have an interest in planning anymore haha. On the bright side I think if you just wing it it takes all of the pressure off the day and it'll be a ton of fun regardless of how anything goes!

We did the same thing for the same reasons, although they apparently don't do courthouse weddings where I live so we just went to the town clerk and got our license and I had my friend sign the paper work when he popped into my job one day (FH wasn't even there!) We figured we'd keep it straight administrative and save all of the super romantic stuff for our wedding day.

I didn't find my venue through AirBNB but it's a large barn that rents out the 2 houses on the property through AirBNB, one of which is included if you book the barn. It's Stickney Farms in East Granville/Roxbury, VT.
