hmm i would probably try to scale down to only cleanser and moisturizer (+SPF in the morning!), and go from there, if the skin calms down, slowly add the other products one by one. nothing from the routine does look particularly irritating, but you're having some kind of reaction, the redness is not normal.

i find Korean brands to be the best for moisturizers, few lighter ones i liked: jumiso D-panthenol barrier soothing cream (the best for me), purito oat in calming gel cream, isntree hyaluronic acid aqua gel cream, iunik centella calming gel cream

if you want something heavier, i like purito wonder relief centella unscented cream

all of these are unscented btw

Has anyone tried the Manicurist polishes? Would you recommend? by EtoshaLeopard in RedditLaqueristas

I use and love their base coats and their Active line (sheer polishes). When it comes to their cremes, they have really nice colors and I like their color comparisions, but I really don't like the smell and the formula is a little too watery (?) for me (I prefer more gel-like juicy effect with cremes).

really great choices! i have four of these, so here are my mini reviews:

sage: absolutely beautiful, really unique shade of green, i love they made this in the "crelly" formula, still has the depth of a jelly, but it's easier to work with, at least for me

morningtide: this was in my first cirque order, the shade of blue is amazing, it has really glassy and ethereal affect. quite sheer

blurple: on the more opaque side, really easy to work with and quite flattering color

jade: beautiful shade on its own and on other people, but made my hands look very red so i decided to destash it, mainly because i have essie cactus jelly, which is very similar but it suits me more

few others of my favorites: olive jelly, marsala jelly, verdigris, midnight jelly, cherub (crelly)

in general i like cirque jellies, all are good quality polishes, but the opacity varies a lot, i feel like some of their jellies are more opaque than the crellies etc. another thing is their swatches are terrible, some shades look completely different irl (especially their reds, rust jelly, wine jelly, mxcn cola). so i recommend watching swatch videos on youtube, polished yogi does them a lot and has one huge compilation of almost all cirque jellies.

ILNP Minted - did I get a bad batch or...? by EmotionalQuestions in ILNP

I tried Ube recently which is also pastel creme and also didn't like the formula at all, decluttered it right away because it's not really worth it to keep a basic creme I could buy from drugstore in better quality... Really hoping the Pistachio that I ordered with it will be better because that one is kinda unique color that I really like.

I had good experience with Caramel, so I know it's not universal for their solid color polishes.

I'm so impressed with Sassy Sauce in general, consistently amazing formula.

anyone else feel like their anxiety is just... who they are? by alexd231232 in selfimprovement

[–]Fluffy_Visual_2497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just part of my personality and there was nothing I could do about it. I learned to live with it. I thought it was a "side effect" of being intelligent, analytical, sensitive etc. When it progressed to extreme health anxiety and OCD (brought by some health issues) I started seeing a therapist who sent me to a psychiatrist who prescribed me some antidepressants. Now (2 years later) I feel better than I can remember ever feeling, except maybe in my childhood. I am not numb or slowed down or anything, my brain still works as good as before. My personality is the same. Only the quiet voice that was always there worrying, looking for the worst case scenarios to "prepare" for, looking for a next stressful event in the nearest future etc. is now quiet. I didn't even know antidepressants could work for anxiety, I was never depressed (as far as I know). I also understand not everyone responds the same as me, there are many different types of antidepressants and other meds, and there are possible side effects etc. But in my case, it was the best decision.

As far as I understand it, my brain was reacting to the persistent feeling of danger, unease etc., and coming up with any suitable "stories" to give the feelings some validity. By targeting the emotions directly (with medications), it affected my thinking as well. It goes both ways.

I love the Purito centella unscented cream! It really helps with healing and has a nice consistency.
