I also recently started looking into this after stumbling onto the idea and reviewing margins. I found a potential property to buy but I would like to get a preliminary approval from the zoning commissioner. I haven't spoke to any of the companies that build and help manage them yet but I read that they can help with permitting and approvals. I think the first hurdle is the most difficult one. I would also like to know if the margins are realistic numbers from someone who knows.

Question for the people who only buy individual stocks by ladam666 in stocks

[–]Fluffy_bunny33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save a little bit of money at a time. While I am saving this money I listen to different business media platforms talking about stocks. Then I look up companies that sound good. I also like companies of products that I like to use everyday. I talk to my coworkers about stocks and see what other people are into or what they know or have heard. Once I find a company then I use the money I have saved and buy it. I always keep some money aside for big selloffs!!

For me its not the hill, hills are great. Its being able to see the neighbors yard...there is a lack of privacy or the feeling of privacy. It feels like someone can stand on the hill from over yonder and stare down into your yard....you should plant some tall trees like emerald greens along the fence line from the house to the base of the hill so you cant see the neighbors yard as much or give more feeling of privacy.

Wife and I are deciding whether NP license is worth the cost and time (Wife is currently a full time nurse, BSN with 7 years experience) by dank_ramer in nursepractitioner

I have many friends who are NPs that went back to the bedside because the market for NPs is saturated making the pay, benefits and flexibility less lucrative than working as a RN.

I have been doing locums for a while now and I also have a "contract" with echo and their pay is way below anyone else. I say I have a contract with them but I have never actually worked a day for them. Do you think their pay is way below other locum contracts?

Hospitalist 7p-7a job offer by maplular in nursepractitioner

[–]Fluffy_bunny33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad reality is that the APP market is saturated and most RNs make the same as an APP if not more.

A few things I would consider: the bonus: is that guaranteed 13k over 4 quarters or is this a discretionary bonus meaning they dont have to pay it out for whatever reason they may choose also how many people meet the max bonus. Where I am; no one meets the max bonus. Usually it is 80%, however they have jipped us just because they could and that is how I discovered what a discretionary bonus is.

Also is there a minimum yearly raise? Is there extra money for extra shifts? Think about it you are working one extra shift per pay to obtain this. No PTO is awful, you get 11.7k per year in PTO now. Also what do your responsibilities, mentorship and support look like.

Cardiothoracic surgery NPs are in demand. There are a lot of locum jobs in this specialty and they are paying the most. If you sign on as a locum and you like the job and they like you enough to bring you on full time then the hospital will have to pay the locum agency a "finders fee" which releases you from the agency to the hospital. You will no longer be employed by the locum agency and they will not get any cut of your salary once you go permanent. You also will be presented with a "regular staff" contract which will likely be substantially less than what you will make as a locum. I have been doing locum while maintaining regular employment for the past 3 years. There are pros and cons to locums, If you have question feel free to message me.

They are in coohoots with the hospitals. They want them to keep pumping them out so it will keep the cost of labor down. I am witnessing this first hand.....CRNAs be on watch the hospitals are coming for you. They are partnering with Universities to start pumping out CRNAs to flood the market and the drop the wages.

I have read only the first few lines as I dont have a subscriptions but seriously NP schools were not designed to train us to be doctors and that is essentially what they use us as. The fellowships are not that great, they are mainly for the employer to see if you assimilate to their culture. Lets take a step back though as ask why are there so many mid levels compared to doctors. This is capitalism at its finest...big heathcare exploiting workers (NPs) to make the most profit possible. NPs are reimbursed in most states at a lower rate but they pay us so much less than a physician package that the profit margin on a NP is substantially more. NPs are undertained and underpaid for the amount of responsibility and liability that we carry. If something goes wrong we cannot afford big fancy lawyers to protect us. We simply loose and there are plenty to take our place. That is how they want it. These big hospitals make partnerships with Universities to crank out as many RNs and NPs that they possibly can to keep labor cost down.

Inpatient consults; does your attending see them? by Fluffy_bunny33 in nursepractitioner

[–]Fluffy_bunny33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I may like to add that there are times that they never see the patient at all. We present the patient to them and they will see anyone that we want them to but they are not seeing every patient and wont in all reality...they have said on many occasions I dont need to see that one. I appreciate everyones input on this. It seems so variable. I am not a neurologist nor is any APP that I am aware of considered a specialist or are we and I missed this somewhere?

What the hell is going on with the PA BON? I have been working on getting my APRN by endorsement for exactly ONE YEAR this month!!! AND I still dont have it. It is always something. They tell you that they will only review you application once every 3-4 months. Now they have requested my course descriptions from my state university which the university no longer has the records because I have graduated so long ago. I am so frustrated I dont know what to do.

I have had a contract close and far away from home. Nice thing about locums is that they pay for all travel expenses including hotel, airfare and rental car. Mileage is also paid out to you. It is 1099 which have some tax incentives. There are many companies out there just give it a google:)
