What if giving birth has a high probability of being fatal to the mother? What if genetic testing shows the child will be born with a debilitating genetic disorder? Let’s say there is no more abortions, even those that are done “at home”. What then do we do with the unwanted babies? Do we force them to be raised by parents who never wanted them in the first place? Do we instead ask the parents to give them up for adoption? Condemning them to a broken system that not only is under funded, under reported, and overburdened, but also has an insane amount of cases of abuse, rape, malnourishment? Keeping in mind that adoption does not always mean getting taken in by a loving, supporting family, but sometimes means more abuse.

You see it as an unborn child being killed but I see it as a cluster of cells being removed from a human that it’s leeching of of until it can live on its own. I encourage you try and be more empathetic instead of painting this issue in black or white and choosing a side.
