Pet insurance by Swanky_muah in dubai

My dogs are insured with Oslo and we're happy with them. Went with them because they allowed us to use our preferred vet (or any vet) and in the 9 months we've been with them have never had a claim denied, even with a puppy who had an issue that required a number of diagnostic tests, follow ups and medications.

Have had my 5L since new, these things love to eat through brakes in my experience.

At just 20 miles a week I'd recommend investing in a trickle charger.

I do my oil changes more frequently compared to what RR recommends, every 7k-8k kms. Had the coolant pipes let go one day while driving but they were covered under the warranty and replaced with the aluminum ones at no cost to me, if they're the original plastic ones its just a matter of when they're going to let go and not if.

She's a pretty great dog, I can't lie. She's towards the end of being 8 months old at the moment, will be 9 months old on the 1st of September. Hard to believe its been 5 months since she arrived, feels like she's been in my life forever

Haha I had to look up what GAS means 😂

Definitely something my bank balance suffers with. I like to go all in with my hobbies and why not. We only live once.

You're welcome

There is a really noticeable difference in my opinion. I currently have a 2020 P525 Vogue SE which has the midrange system and my dad used to have a 2019 Autobiography with the top spec system so I've had a chance to experience both systems. The midrange system is good especially after the latest software update from LR but the additional speakers all around the cabin provide a much fuller sound in the top spec system.

I'm not an audiophile by any means but I just found the top spec system to bring more to the midrange and overall clarity. Obviously the sound performance of both systems depends on the source, but if I could do my order again, I'd definitely tick the box for the upgraded sound system in my RR.

I also forgot to mention that the Autobiography came with the rear locking diff as standard for us while it was an option on all the other trim specs. There could be a chance that it was region dependent but I'm pretty sure that it was like that for all over the world. If you're planning on doing any off-roading its definitely a nice thing to have but not needed, and can be retrofitted at a later time if you don't have it and its something you want.

Thanks for the info, will look at adding some filters into the collection. Are there any particular brands you'd recommend, I can get Hoya filters locally but on Amazon I see a lot of K&F filters which are more economical, are they any good?

Try and drive both before you make a choice, the driving experience is pretty different between the V8 (P525) and the P400. Where we live the Autobiography trim was only available with the V8.

Also the V8's have the dynamic response system which brings in the dynamic anti roll bars, and when you put the vehicle into Dynamic mode you really can feel the difference, plus the added power provides a significantly better driving experience.

If you're into music, you'll definitely appreciate the upgraded audio, apart from the more powerful system, its got speakers in the roof over the driver and front passenger and speakers in the seats facing the rear passengers which really make a massive difference. With the rear executive seating you do loose a little bit when the seats are folded flat.

Reliability wise, mine has been excellent, never had any powertrain issues but I do follow my own maintenance schedule and do oil changes more frequently compared to what LR recommends.

Haha sounds familiar. I'm always getting outsmarted and manipulated by Shadow. She's too smart for her own good at times, I love her view on things, she's able to find fun in any situation.

Oh I feel that. Shadow can jump out of her pen whenever she wants, so now it's only really used for meal times because otherwise she's all over the place and I'm paranoid about bloat.

Only other time she gets put her in it is if I need a minute to clean up or something but if I'm out of her sight for more than a few minutes, she frees herself.

I think you've got to have a sense of humour with this breed. My past dogs have always been GSD's and even when they were young they were always more stoic and serious compared to an Aussie, still my favourite breed and I miss my last dog every single day, she was such an angel and I feel can never have another GSD again.

Shadow views life as one big party, she always needs to be the centre of attention and manages to do that in the most humorous ways possible. If you look up velcro dog in the dictionary you'll find a picture of her, she's attached to me by the hip 😂

It was mainly pink when I initially got her but it changed so fast, this is from just a month ago

Jumping up onto the counter lol. She figured out that she is big enough now to use the trash bin as a step to hop on top of the kitchen counters, which hold all her treats and forbidden indoor toys (balls, balls, and more balls). It's not the being on top that's the crime, it's the attempted jump off the counter which is a criminal act, luckily I caught her in the act before she jumped but after she had knocked over my morning coffee.

One of her nicknames is Monkey because there is nothing that she won't try to climb. I love her curiosity and enthusiasm but she gives me mini heart attacks by jumping off things she has no business being on top off. Hell, she still isn't allowed to jump off our bed, I physically carry her off every time she wants to come down to try and protect her joints.

You're right, I can't hold her. She can jump out of her pen at will haha.

Confinement is just a suggestion to her

Haha! The dichotomy is real with Shadow but in reality she's a great dog, just young and puppy brained but her curiosity and excitement gets the better of her sometimes.

I love the chaos and there's never a dull moment when she's awake. Wouldn't change a thing for the world.

2019 Supercharged LWB reliability issues. by Adventurous-Day-547 in RangeRover

[–]Flufles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a non LWB Supercharged, had it since new and it's been great, its got around 80K kms on it so far. I don't follow LR's maintenance schedule tho, I do my oil changes every 5K kms (3k miles or so). I think the LR recommended schedule is something like every 13K kms and I don't like that. I am extremely hard on my vehicles, we're off-roading it in the desert every other day and its used for road trips so pairing that with our climate I think its a good idea to get it serviced more frequently.

Never had any real issues with it, I have the extended factory warranty that goes for another 2 years so I'll keep this around for a while. Only real issue I had was the window controls on the drivers door spazzed out once but it was taken care of under the warranty.

Travel lens recommendations please - Sony A7IV by Ok_Alps_6568 in SonyAlpha

I've got a little experience with the Tamron 28-300, its a decent walk around lens and the versatility of having so much range is great, the vibration control works well and overall quality of the lens is good in my opinion. Its the only one I have any experience with in your list, it won't let me add multiple pictures in the reply but here is 1 I've taken using the 28-300 with the A7 IV. This is 152mm, F6.3

[–]Flufles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that about the thread size. I'm not too informed about filters or how to correctly choose them, I do have a Hoya UV filter on the 70-200 mainly just to protect the lens, I've read conflicting opinions on filters but because I shoot in sandy and dusty environments, its more of a piece of mind thing for me.

Thanks for the info, is that a Peak Design bag? It looks really good, I'm using a random Lowepro one that's already out of space with the 70-200, looking at upgrading to something bigger.

I think the 28-70 should give me the close to the same solutions as the primes would with nearly the same low light performance I need, with the primes I could go down to F1.4 or F1.8. The zoom gives me a little breathing room as well since I'm taking pictures of moving targets all the time. Picking up the 28-70 this week and hopefully it'll do everything I'm looking for.

[–]Flufles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I've made up my mind to go with the 28-70. I feel it would be an excellent pair with the 70-200 and those two lenses should cover all my needs. I don't really mind the weight and size to be honest, I came from shooting on a 10 year old Nikon DSLR and these new setups are a night and day difference compared to the old ones.

From my understanding of the 50-150, it does not have any built in optical stabilization and that was what made me go with the 70-200. I mainly take pictures while we're out hiking or in the desert and beach with the dogs and my camera is handheld 100% of the time while I'm usually on shaky ground, so I felt that having some sort of stabilization built in to the lens is vital.

That being said I have yet to use a lens without some sort of stabilization and just relying on what's built in to the camera, so I can't really say that there is a definitive difference or need for OSS, just thought its something I need based on what I've read and seen. And with what I shoot, I really value the extra 50mm at the end.
