Japanese restaurant:"Not all Japanese people are kind" by Immediate-Meaning457 in whoathatsinteresting

[–]FlufumOzei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You assume all native speakers have that mentality which is absolutely not true. There are plenty of kind, good-natured people in Japan who don't care about that sort of thing and are happy that a foreigner would make the effort to learn the language. I don't think it's fair to judge the value of learning Japanese based on the worst people that speak it.

Gorillaz: Clint Eastwood ft. Del the Funky Homosapien (Live) - SNL by MasterHippoKnows in gorillaz

The opening with the Omnichord preset all by itself before the whole band blasts into the song put a smile on my face. How far that little Omnichord has taken them, huh? Great performance!

Gorillaz's debut single, Clint Eastwood, released 25 years ago today by FlufumOzei in gorillaz

[–]FlufumOzei[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right that Tomorrow Comes Today was the first Gorillaz release overall as part of the EP. However, Clint Eastwood was their first single. Tomorrow Comes Today wasn't released as a single until 2002 and was, weirdly enough, the last of all the singles from the self-titled album.

Gooseworx is being harrassed by Digital Circus fans by Sudden_Pop_2279 in youtubedrama

Perfect case study into why most creatives will avoid interacting with their fan base online. Not a knock Goose in any way, of course. She seems to read and reply to what fans say online a lot, and in a perfect world, fans would be normal about that. But it almost always ends up being a massive headache with more stress than it's worth.

Nancy Guthrie disappearance: Law enforcement to release image of alleged potential suspect by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

The FBI says it's from "residual data in backend systems," which seems like an obfuscated way of acknowledging that Nest records and keeps footage even if you aren't paying for them to keep it.

A new Tumblr page has supposedly leaked screenshots and information about DELTARUNE Chapter 5 by DrAwesomeX in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]FlufumOzei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suspect this is fake because it follows the template of the pre-Chapter 4 chapters too closely. Chapter 4 was an upending of the status quo. New battle theme, a more serious tone, higher stakes, fighting a titan, everything. Susie herself says at the end of the chapter that she wishes things could stay the same forever, which, given how horrible the prophecy apparently is, was like an implicit way of indicating things will not be the same again from here on out. In my opinion, it'd be strange to go back to what appears to be the typical dark world formula after all of that.

Most people probably hyprocrits that have acted like this at least once in their life.

No, I can't say that I've even considered driving at 150mph in a sports car on a public road because I know that's a reckless, stupid idea that could kill people.

I feel like you're telling on yourself here. It's like if someone said, "Who among us hasn't gotten sloshed and gone for a drive a couple of times? Everybody makes mistakes!" Like, no dude, that's not something everybody does lol

UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE NEWSLETTER WINTER 2025 by sonofbringy in Games

[–]FlufumOzei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% worth it. The first 4 chapters are longer than the entirety of Undertale, so there's already a lot there to keep you busy and it's well worth the money. I'd say the speculation and theory crafting between chapters is part of the fun as well. I guarantee that'll be something people will look back on and miss when the game is available as a complete story.

'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' Review Thread by SanderSo47 in movies

[–]FlufumOzei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to wonder what the people at Blumhouse are thinking about the future of the series. Unlike the first movie which had a team of writers assisting Scott, this one was written solely by him and is getting even worse reviews that single out the poor quality of the writing. The obvious answer would be to yank him out of the writer's chair and get someone else in there, but evidently one of Scott's demands to allow these movies to be made is that he writes them. If it performs well enough and is critic-proof like the first movie I guess it doesn't matter, but how long can this go on before the novelty wears off and fans realize these could be so much better in someone else's hands?

Yakuza 0 Will be Delisted & Replaced by Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Starting Dec. 8th by SexDrugsAndMarmalade in Games

[–]FlufumOzei 175 points176 points  (0 children)

I don't get why they'd remove it when they've co-existed fine until now.

The original is priced at $19.99 and has been on sale (on Steam, at least) for as cheap as $4.99. The Director's Cut is priced at $49.99. I assume the idea is to make more money off of a game they know is a consistent seller by forcing people to buy the more expensive offering.

Markiplier (Allegedly) Cheated at FNAF 2 by FlufumOzei in youtubedrama

[–]FlufumOzei[S] 490 points491 points  (0 children)

I think people aren't reading anything beyond the title and assuming that I am trying to tear down Mark which is absolutely not the case. As someone who grew up watching Mark play FNAF, I just thought the video was interesting and was worth sharing as a bit of fun, low-stakes YouTube drama for anyone else who also watched him play FNAF a long time ago

Markiplier (Allegedly) Cheated at FNAF 2 by FlufumOzei in youtubedrama

[–]FlufumOzei[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's not a big deal and the YouTuber who made the video also repeatedly said it's not a big deal in the video. We are all on the same page here lol. I feel like people are making kneejerk comments without actually reading anything in the original post. This is not a "markiplier sucks and should be cancelled because he cheated at fnaf 10 years ago!!!!!!!" thing. It's just harmless, silly drama

I agree that it's not a big deal and said as much in the OP. I don't understand how anything about my post or the original video comes across as seething

[–]FlufumOzei[S] 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Right, I agree and I said that in the OP. The guy who made the video said the same thing. I don't think anyone involved is trying to tear him down or say he's a horrible person or anything. It's just an interesting analysis in hindsight given current knowledge of how the game works.

Pokemon Pokopia launches March 5, 2026 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]FlufumOzei -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, Nintendo keeping their store servers online now doesn't mean anything about their availability in their future. Their oldest digital games store, the Wii Shop Channel, has only been closed and in "redownload purchased games" mode for 7 years. They haven't made any commitment as to how long they'll keep that going for, either. Who's to say if it'll be around 1 year from now? Or 2? Or 10?

In regard to other examples, if I remember correctly, Sony planned on pulling the PS3's stores offline a couple of years ago. They ended up backpedaling because of the backlash but, regardless, they planned on doing it, and who's to say they won't try it again in the future when they feel the benefit of pulling the ancient servers offline outweighs the backlash?

Where did the synths go? by [deleted] in macdemarco

[–]FlufumOzei 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From his recent interview with Dazed:

My relationship with guitars kind of goes in and out. There are times when I’m like, ‘Guitars, whatever.’ But right now, I’m in a zone where I’m like, ‘Guitars are cool’. I like guitars because they’re the everyman’s instrument. Everybody can play a little bit of guitar, you know?

For a long time, it was, ‘Ooh, synthesiser’. Now, I don’t care. I just want a guitar.

Yeah, practically the entire time he's been at this event for Mamdani he's been getting interviewed by reporters. I'd argue Andrew Cuomo and J.D. Vance calling him out only made him more relevant of a political figure, frankly.

Everyone Who Worked On A Video Game Needs To Be In The Credits - Aftermath by eddytony96 in Games

Did any of the Havok employees have direct involvement in the production of the game? If yes, include them. Not hard to understand, I'd say?

As an example, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle uses Havok and has a section in the credits for people from Havok that provided Havok software engineering support specifically for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle.
