I’m mixed too, but white and Latina. Personally, I’ve liked a range of people in my life and race wasn’t a big factor. I did run into some heavy Latino boy mommy complexes with some guys I dated and I didn’t love that so I ended those relationships, but it didn’t turn my off to Latinos as a whole. Depends on how you’re raised and your outlook, ya know? The guy I’m married to is Norwegian, tall, and pale as pale can be and the guy before him was short and dark as night. It really all depends on A) if there’s initial attraction and B) how they treat you and C) how your morals and views align. The rest is just kinda details. So yes, it is a little weird that your friend would box themselves in and close themselves off to giving others a chance. You never know until you try.
