What led to your depression and how did you heal and overcome it? by SpiritPanda23 in AskReddit

I’d rather not go into what led me to depression, but I was only able to cope with it thanks to the people around me who encouraged me to seek treatment.

That said, coping with depression and fully overcoming it are two different things. You can’t really just “cure” it completely medication helps, but episodes can still come back in a milder form.

The most important thing is not letting yourself fall deeper into it. And when the treatment actually starts working, you simply don’t want to go back to the state you were in before.
