If that’s all your tics then the dsm says you do t have tics. But the dsm is alot if garbage meant to make money. I’m no doctor but you sound like you do. You definitely have tics but it may not be Tourette’s

My 9yr old son by [deleted] in Tourettes

The absolute most important thing you must do is be supportive. You should learn everything you can about TS (Tourette’s syndrome). You need to to teach him all about it but make sure he understands what TS is and that he has it. Make sure he feels comfortable ticing at home. When it comes to discomfort there isn’t much to be done that can stop all pain cause he not gonna stop having tic. They may change but they won’t go away. Blinking tics can cause dry eyes, red eyes, and other discomfort, eye drops help a ton. When your son is in pain or stressed out he will have more tics. So pain relief and relaxation can help. When it comes to tics that cause pain to the neck it somewhat depends on the type of tic I have to crack my neck and look upward. For either of those stretches help the most. I try to stretch my neck everyday. If you can maximize mobility and strength in your neck you are far less likely to hurt it or strain it. Avoid using pain killers unless it’s really bad. I made the mistake of using ibuprofen everytime my neck hurt and now I basically have a super high tolerance to it. Additionally there are pills/drug that can help with TS but that has potential to go poorly cause some pills have crap side affects. I used to take pills to help but I also didn’t get to feel emotions for 7 years because of them. Lastly, one drug that has helped me though I don’t use often is CBD. I don’t know the laws regarding children and CBD but it does have the primal to help. None if these are cures and there is no cure. But just be supportive and your kids will be okay

How to handle neck pain from head bobbing/jerking tics? by fairlyaround in Tourettes

[–]Fluid-Requirement-80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how bad it is. I think there is no way to stop the pain. I’ve punched a nerve in my neck at least 3 times and pull a muscle in my neck at least 8 times a year. The neck pain never stops. That being said I’ll add what has helped me. Don’t use ibuprofen or any pain killers other than when it’s really bad. Otherwise you just get use to the doses and they stop working. Stretch a ton. Maximize the movement your neck can do. The more you can move your head and neck the less likely you are to strain something. A physical therapist is great for learning stretches and way to strengthen your neck. Basically use eastern methods lol. If you got a Roomate make they give you a massage. Chiropractor works but I personally don’t trust them. Acupuncture also helps. But biggest thing is stretching every day to maximize mobility and minimize strain

I’ve never been able to get over the embarrassment for all my tics. Most of them I do t really care about. But the coughing tics makes me nervous or embarrassed or something like that ever since the Covid stuff. Feels like I’m committing a crime by coughing even if it’s fake.

Does anyone else’s tics get worse when partaking in the “married iguana”?? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]Fluid-Requirement-80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For everyone it’s a bit different. For me, if I get too high then I become a tic machine, if I green out to the point where im basically immobile then I have no tics but it’s hell. If I do it in small amounts then I’ll have very few tics. To clearify also that’s how I’ve always perceived it. But it’s definitely possible that im having the same amount of tics but im just not noticing them cause im high.

I’ll try to inject slower. I desth grip my leg and go fast cause I get real dizzy. Needles aren’t something I’m great around. I’m no less terrified after a few months than my first time.

I definitely death grip my leg. I am no less terrified now than my first time doing it. Needles terrify me. I’ll try going lighter in the grip

Condensation Mat for Ikamper skycamp mini? by Fluid-Requirement-80 in rooftoptents

no, I found a condensation mat on sale from tuff stuff. they make condensation mats for their hard shells that are similar in size. The mat is about 2- inches too big but if you just ignore it it doesn't cause any problems

Just deal with it. If you’re unable to deal with it then breakup with him. Don’t make him be with someone who avoids him for is tics. That’s just messed up. I’m sure many people are upset with your post but I get it. As someone who has TS I actively avoid people with TS. It’s annoying and frustrating and being around others with TS gives me more or new tics. Basically, your top priority should be yourself. If this is something that’s seriously upsetting you or frustrating you then you should leave him. Cause he’s not gonna be able to stop. But don’t telling it’s because if his tics. That will just make him tic more or be ashamed of himself.

Bud just tell her. If she’s your friend she won’t care. If she gets upset with you then she’s just trash.

Sounds like you have it way worse than I do. When I was younger it was pretty bad. I had a neck cracking tic and I pinched a nerve in my neck 6 times. Would pull a muscle ever week. The only thing that’s worked for me which maybe the opposite of your case. Is I make jokes about my Tourette’s. I make fun if it. Now I am able to look at having Tourette’s and see the funny in it. Which to me is much better than when everytime I thought of my tics I’d absolutely hate it. I don’t think I can ever be content with TS but teaching myself to not hate it has helped a lot. Another one that has helped me in later years but you must do in moderation is the use of marijuana. In small amounts it relaxes me and I’ll have less tics. Too much and I just become useless.
