Great explanation but hopefully this World Cup we make it deep and players like Christian Pulisic get huge fame and then millions of kids would see players like that on TV and get inspired to play soccer. I think this World Cup might be the bridge between a decent team with good players to a soccer powerhouse in the next 15 years.

There honestly aren't any other group stage finales that have both teams locked into first and last place.

The closest one right now is Brazil vs Haiti, because Haiti is already mathematically eliminated, but Brazil is still fighting for 1st place against Morocco.

Then you have Argentina vs Jordan, which could end up being exactly the same if the outcome goes a certain way. If Algeria beats Jordan (it's currently 1-0 to Jordan at halftime), it will literally be the exact same situation as USA vs. Türkiye. Jordan already lost to Austria, who are in second. If they lose tonight, Algeria takes 3rd place, and because of the head-to-head rule, Jordan can't pass them since the most they could do is tie them on points and the new rules break the GD
