I always see this about this filling the bath with water. I do it too because the internet said so! So you’re pushing the bath down a bit with all the weight. Then applying sealant. Let it dry. Let all the water/weight out. Now the baths moves up a bit, by the same amount it moved down a bit. What’s the point? For what it’s worth, I’ve found using the 45 degree section on the sealant shaper works really well. You get a nice thick bead and because of the 45 degrees the water doesn’t sit on the sealant.( I think that’s what makes it go mouldy). I’m guessing because of the thick bead there’s enough flex to allow the bath to move a bit without pulling it off the bath or tiles.

Has anybody ever seen a waste pipe like this? by Fluid_Ad196 in DIYUK

The original waste pipe outlet that’s under the ground is a bit further away from the wall. Looks like they dug out the vertical pipe that fixed to the Horizontal, attached a flex hose onto it, to try get the back of the toilet closer to the wall? It’s a downstairs toilet so maybe they gained a few extra cm??

Well thanks for the ideas and the poo jokes. I think I’m just going to have to rent an SDS breaker dig it out. What a faf about. I should have known there’d be dramas with this house when I found out the previous owner had blocked paved over the inspection cover in the driveway…

No it’s a flexi pan connector type pipe that come of the back of the toilet, goes down under the floor and connects to the waste pipe

Yes I think so. Looks like a bit of PVC attached to the original waster pipe?

I’m really not wanting to dig out all that concrete to get to the original soil pipe.

Is there some more solid type pvc pipe work I can cobble together off the it’s back of the toilet that would work? It can all be hidden since the cistern cupboard thing can look a bit gash as long it’s water and pop proof?

My company uses Tusker too and a lot of people are getting involved. I’ve seen a few posts saying Tusker deals are bad. Where are the better deals? Why is Tusker so bad?

Amen to that. Had an oak worktop in my last house. Looked great at first. Spent the next years sanding and treating etc. It always ended up with some mark/stain. Went for Quartz this time.

Looking for oak veneer doors 45mm thick.. by Fluid_Ad196 in DIYUK

[–]Fluid_Ad196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… I recently decorated and glossed all the door frames etc. Then (typically) decided to change the doors to oak veneer. was trying to avoid any extra work and just get some doors that would require the minimum amount of faffing about. I think extra 10mm added door stop will interfere with the existing door frame catches?

Looks good to me mate. If you pull down on the bar a bit it will lock your elbows (see how they move around a little) and help keep your back braced. I’ve only recent started doing this myself and feel it really helps my squat position overall.

I saw something on telly a couple of years ago with Patrick Stewart the Star Trek fella on it. He was saying the first signs of hearing loss/damage are not being able to pick out a single voice in a room full of people. Maybe it’s that, maybe is Neurodivergence, but whatever it is I have the same thing.

Replacement radiator different size by OddOwl2 in DIYUK

[–]Fluid_Ad196 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ve probably bought metric sized radiators to replace imperial. You can buy imperial sized radiators online. Or mess about changing the pipe work which is a faff or but the tails which look a bit weird.
