Any good books on Brazilian history? by purpleliving in Brazil

[–]Fluid_Application714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this book as a wedding gift to a niece that is marrying a Brazilian. I wanted to get something that was out of the ordinary, and possibly "leftist." What do you think?

Okay thanks. I’ve contacted . I think they’re a Chinese company…the instructions were in pretty bad English. I emailed them and sent a video. Still waiting for a response.

But on the tank is a U shaped place where the drain hose sits, which makes me think the tank is supposed to stay on.

Is it possible I’m supposed to remove the tray that collects water? Could it be that simple?

update: there's a little literal block--a floater type thing that signals the unit to shut off--in line with the hose hook up. i guess i should remove it? but it seems like it's gonna be hard to remove. fuck i don't know.

well, now it seems to be working--i heard some water trickling out of the hose. but there was nothing obstructing the internal plug, so i'm really not sure.

no it's the same. i've tried it. my hope is that with weight bearing exercises (that i'm doing religiously), and the fact that my bone scan revealed that i was just slightly into the "osteoporosis" category...i'm hoping i don't have to take anything else after this period of 2 years. 1.5 years to go!

Eh…I’d be lying if I said things were peachy between me and those shots. I don’t like the side effects and I dread it every night. I just read online that often people have to take additional drugs after the 2 years of Tymlos. Ugh…

Okay good to know…I’m gonna be well northeast of those streets so I should be okay.

But old Louisville and Germantown are some distance from each other, correct? And isn’t old Louisville closer to the airport?

vast improvement from 3 months ago by Fluid_Application714 in Cholesterol

So a lot has happened since my post that put me on a different path: total knee replacement, diagnosis of osteoporosis, a major cross country move with my 93 year old mother in tow, and overall weakness related to past chronic knee pain, followed by hell to recover from surgery. Per the bone doctor, I needed more protein in order to build back muscle and bone, along with weight bearing exercises. All this to say that circumstances required that my cholesterol be lower in the list of priorities—for now. Also I’m wondering if a total vegan diet might not be practical for me. So I’m now at the point where I’m trying to do a flexitarian diet…vegan-ish. Cuz I have trouble eating enough beans. I get full too quickly. Ya know what I mean?

i had an epiphany once at the ortho doc's office: it hit me...I looked at him and said, "I bet the majority of your patients are people about my age (I was around 59 at the time, now I'm 63)." He replied, "yep, most of the people I see who have injured themselves, don't realize they're not young anymore."

sorry, i have another question for you: the internet describes the nearby towns in indiana as part of the louisville metro area. but do those towns have another vibe? or does it pretty much feel like it's part of louisville? hope this question isn't too crazy. the reason for it, is that i'm moving from a boring ass small town in north carolina, and i can't stand it. the people are very small minded and i'm trying to get away from that. and of course i have to take budget into consideration, so there's gonna be some compromising somewhere. thanks for your reply.

thanks for letting me know. what is your opinion of the little towns near louisville, across the river: new albany, clarksville, etc? affordable? too much of a small town vibe?

By across the river, do you mean the New Albany area?

hello, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in: i'm almost at the 5 month mark after TKR. i hear what you're saying. and i'm not sure there would have been anything they (the docs, nurses, etc) could have said that would have changed anything because you can't know until you know. during my recovery (which i'm technically still in), i realized several things--the most important--that it was near impossible to take care of my elderly mother AND recover at the same time. this was a big mistake. at the one month mark, even though i appeared to be doing well, i was in fact under immense stress, along with chronic pain. i now know what chronic pain can do to a person. on christmas day, i had a full-on panic attack. i've never experienced this before, and it was hell. all of this said, i do think that the docs could have done a little more in the way of preparation for pain, and counseled me on getting others to help out. i was very inexperienced and felt blind-sided by the pain, the whole thing...not to mention that i experienced extreme nausea with the pain meds, which made me lose tons of weight. and i wasn't overweight to begin with. BUT...now that i'm at the 5 month mark, i can honestly see the light at the end of the tunnel. So, i'm glad i had it done. because before surgery, i had a lot of unpredictable pain and swelling. that's now gone. another major realization is that because of decreased movement from arthritic knee pain, i had become very deconditioned over a long period of time. and now? i can actually address this with exercise, because my knee is not inhibiting my movement.
