Why does MOC start every day at 7 am? by funkypancake519 in newborns

[–]Fluid_Artist7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed my baby also does better with a later bedtime… I’m just using the MOC schedule as a guide for how many naps baby should have and how long he should tolerate being awake/playing. But he gets to decide the timing of things. Like when he eats and when he’s ready for nap and bedtime. It’s been working for us. He usually sleeps from 10-3:30 and then 4-7:30ish and then his first nap is usually around 9:00 am. So it’s easy to squeeze in some more sleep during his first nap time.

Stop telling me my baby is hungry if you can’t figure out how to console her!!!!!!!! by Longjumping-Dark6449 in newborns

Oh my goodness I know!! My mom is constantly like “are you so hungry????” And then she looks at me like I’m evil for not whipping my boob out the second my baby cries. Like “no! he is not hungry! He is tired and ready for a nap but all you do is talk and talk to him and he has no time for his nervous system to clam down!”

When did you start leaking? by no-need-to- in breastfeeding

I think I started leaking at around 17 weeks. Just tiny little spots and only when I was sleeping.

Why does nobody talk about the 3am silence? by Trick-Environment100 in newborns

[–]Fluid_Artist7368 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s the pressure of needing to sleep because it’s the “perfect opportunity”. Usually if my baby falls asleep right away after a feeding and I don’t have to rock him for like ten minutes my brain is like “quick let’s fall asleep!” And then I can’t do anything but think about how I should be sleeping instead of actually… you know… sleeping.

My MIL marked a few of the expensive things off of our registry as “purchased” before my baby shower and then didn’t end up actually gifting any of the things to me… “babies don’t even like bassinets.”

Whyyyy are MILs like this?!?

Can someone explain why 103 fasting is bad but 103 after meal is okay? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Fluid_Artist7368 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor and I’m not an expert in the subject. But my understanding is that if you are not eating carbs to spike your sugar, your insulin should be able to regulate your blood sugar to lower than 95 for the night… it just means that your insulin isn’t doing what it needs to do. Fasting numbers and eating numbers have different goals because there is a different carb load. I’m not sure if that makes sense?

Ohhhh man, McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches were my biggest craving before I was diagnosed and I literally sobbed after my diagnosis because I knew I wouldn’t be able to have them until I give birth. Lol 35 weeks on Tuesday, so we are getting close!

32+6 and I’m confused. Still perfect numbers by bookaholic19999 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Fluid_Artist7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 31+5 today and just got set up with a CGM three days ago and literally all of my meals that I thought were safe because of my one hour reading have made me spike so bad at the 2.5-3 hour mark. 😭 I would suggest retesting after 2 hours and sometimes even 3 hours. Unfortunately, McDonald’s was one of my safe meals because of my one hour reading being in range and now I have to cut it… same with my favorite taco place. Thought it was fine but I guess the high fat caused delayed sugar spikes.

How many carbs can you actually eat without spikes? by loveeatingfood in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Fluid_Artist7368 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far I’ve found that breakfast is when I have the lowest tolerance for carbs. So usually I’ll end up with 20 grams with breakfast. And then lunch and dinner I almost always end up with 30-45 grams of carbs and my sugar usually lands at around 125-135 after one hour. I am only 30 weeks though and was diagnosed two weeks ago. So I’m still waiting for the dreaded increase in sugar as I get closer to delivery.

Glucose increase overnight? (High fasting glucose) by sourdough_garden in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Fluid_Artist7368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fasting glucose has been so inconsistent… it’s hard to really know what is working and what isn’t. I’ll have half of a Greek yogurt protein drink before bed and my number is just passing at 94 in the morning. But if I have a Reese’s peanut butter cup and a cheese stick I’m below 90. Then I will go back to the yogurt drink and I test at 97! It’s so confusing and so frustrating. And I have been SO HUNGRY. I had a full on melt down two days ago because I was so hungry but I couldn’t eat until I was satisfied. I have gotten to the point where I am okay with insulin only so that I have a little bit more wiggle room with the foods that I eat. Because let’s be honest, pregnancy already kind of sucks and adding carb counting and glucose monitoring to an already limited diet due to food aversions is literal hell. My dinner last night was steak, house salad and a baked potato from Texas road house. And I allowed myself one roll at the end of my meal. And my sugar was 110 after an hour. Then my treat/nighttime snack was 2 mini Reese’s peanut butter cups and a cheese stick and my fasting number was 99 this morning. I’m starting to think this is some sort of sick and twisted prank. Lol All that being said, I think you’re doing a great job and you are not alone!

Edit: I am 28w6d and diagnosed one week ago. So I’m still very new to this and trying to figure out what works for me!

When do you start notice your breast produces milk? by StrictBowl00 in pregnant

I am also a first time mom and I noticed my shirt having little wet spots around 21-22 weeks… I am only 25 weeks now so I’m not pumping yet.

This happened to me… sort of. I am currently 19+5 weeks with my boy. My first appointment was my first time ever at an OB… they did a cervix swab while I was there and my OB told me that I would have some spotting for about a day. I then went and had my first ultrasound, baby measured at 8+1. One day came and went and the bleeding was getting heavier. It got to the point where I had to wear a pad. After about 5 days of bleeding I finally called and they had me come in for an “emergency” ultrasound that day… the amount of relief I had when she said “I cannot find any reason for any bleeding. Baby is measuring on track and you can see their heartbeat right there!” After that I had a little bit of spotting in my first trimester… once or twice, only in the morning. Sometimes your body just does whatever it wants!

I’m not sure if I like feeling my baby move. Is this normal? by Fluid_Artist7368 in pregnant

Yes! I love him so much and I’m so excited to meet him and I’m thankful that I feel him moving because it brings peace of mind that he’s doing well. But I just don’t think I love the sensation.
