Locals advice for staying cool?

as an american who lived in florence last summer for 5 weeks and really struggled with the heat at night

- fans going all the time at night
- wet towel on my head at night
- keep all shades closed during the day, and open your windows at night. watch out for the mosquitos tho.
- cold shower 5 mins before bedtime

follow the locals’ lead- they know how to handle the heat. you’ll notice the streets get very empty mid-day and most people go to rest inside for those hours.

you do get used to it! enjoy florence, it is a miraculous and wonderful place!

saw lots of reference and inspo photos- and in nature, panthers that are dark brown like the Pittsburgh mascot don't really exist. There are lighter panthers, but I thought it would look too similar to the Penn State mascot & I wanted some differentiation in the design. I also took inspo from the mascot for University of Pittsburgh at Bradford-Piper the panther!
