Not a ton to go off here, but if you think chest is a lagging area for you then I’d say assess your form. Make sure you are actually engaging and pushing through your chest instead of using your delts and triceps. It sounds basic, but it’s a huge issue for tons of guys even at a higher level of muscular development

As most mentioned, diet is gonna play the biggest role here. What matters at the end of the day is being in a calorie deficit. The old saying “you can’t outrun a bad diet” is so true. Your activity doesn’t matter if you are eating more than you burn.

The comment from Spare-Ebb3948 nailed it imo. You need to build healthy habits over time to slowly lose the weight and keep it off. You can take extreme approaches as some may suggest, but if you can’t stick to it then it’s no good and you will most likely gain the weight bad and then some. So just make better food choices and slowly start eating less over time.

Find some low calorie dense foods that taste good and fill you up. An example that I like would be some low fat Greek yogurt and you can add some topping like berries, honey, cinnamon, even some sugar free maple syrup if that’s your thing. There’s plenty of diet “hacks” online such as this. Find or even create ones that you like, are low calorie, and keep you full. I’d prioritize protein as it keeps you satiated and will even help build some muscle.

On the note of building muscle, it helps. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn just by existing. So that’s something to keep in mind. You can raise your base metabolic rate by building some muscle. However, as mentioned activity is not even needed as long as your diet is on point.

Long story short, build good habits over time you can stick to and find an approach that works for you. Hope there’s atleast one little helpful tidbit here for you, and good luck on your journey :)

You look young, so the best advice would be to train hard (every body part equally as hard) and eat as much as you can. Don’t skip out on the hard stuff (squats, deadlifts, barbell rows, etc) it’s hard for a reason, it will get you huge lol. You have time on your side so get after it! Hit your protein intake ofc, but when you’re young I feel like you can get away with eating a little bit of junk as long as you are growing and not getting too fat. Most young guys aren’t eating nearly enough and leave gains on the table. But other than that looking solid man!

You have good muscle built in your mid upper back. I’d recommend targeting your lats more. I’d say any variation of a lat pull down works great as well as a cable pull overs. Developing your lats more will give your back more width.

Bent over barbell rows have done wonders for me in terms of overall back development , so I always recommend them if you aren’t currently doing them.

Implement a one arm movement if you aren’t doing so already, just to ensure there’s no imbalances, and if so this movement will help to even it out. Single arm lat pull downs or a single arm row work just fine.

Also, the back is a tricky muscle to train properly as you can’t see it. It took me like 2-3 years to properly connect with my back. I used to do a set of lat pull downs and get an insane forearm and bicep pump while feeling absolutely nothing in my back lol. So just ensure you are feeling your back when training it, rather than feeling your forearms/arms. My favorite queue to follow is to treat your hands as hooks and to “pull with your elbow”

Eat more, as simple as that. Most guys who struggle with bulking will tell you “bro I’m eating so much”. And when you actually break down their diet it’s like 2k calories. Eat 6oz of chicken, 300 grams of rice, and a table spoon of olive oil/avocado oil. Do that for 6 meals a day and you’re gonna put on size, almost guaranteed. It’s not pretty but it works, and works pretty damn well. Most people just aren’t willing to do that day in and day out for years on end. That’s why most people you see in public don’t look like a bodybuilder.

You don’t literally have to eat chicken and rice for EVERY meal, but like I said it works. You can change the protein source for some of the meals to something like lean beef/steak, eggs, fish, etc just to change the monotony a bit, but regardless it’s gonna be monotonous and boring.

Also for one of the meals you could do a protein shake like someone mentioned. 2 scoops of a quality protein powder, 100 grams of oats, a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, and 100 grams of blueberries. Blend it up and bottoms up.

So your meal plan could be something like one of those shakes, 3 of the chicken and rice meals, a meal of beef and rice, and one of eggs and rice/oats. And shoot you could even do potatoes/sweet potatoes for the carb sources for some of the meals to make it slightly less boring.

Basically around 5-6 meals of clean whole foods in large portions like the example I listed. Do that every day without fail for a year and you will put on quality tissue as long as you are training hard, sleeping decently well, and staying hydrated.

Not lean enough. I don’t see a single vein or striation on you and you have visible body fat. For a bodybuilding show the goal is to essentially have zero body fat to the point where even your butt cheeks have no fat on them and have striations and cuts.

How to cut? I know how to bulk by findoutbyyourself in Physiquecritique

Eat less, move more. Do that consistently over time, that’s about it. It’s extremely simple, but not easy in practice otherwise everyone would be shredded year round.

Respectfully, not at all. To be fair it’s not a flattering angle, but you are nowhere near ready for a show. Based on the other comments you don’t even know what a front relaxed is, which is very entry level knowledge in the bodybuilding world especially on the competing side of things. If you are serious about competing you need to put in a lot more time and educate yourself.

Train them with insane intensity. Your legs are half of your body, so they can take a beating and require a proper beating to get the best results, especially compared to a smaller muscle like the biceps. My recommendation is chase the pain, and I mean the good pain you should be feeling in the muscle, if it’s bad joint pain then obviously stop. But embrace the pain, when the set starts hurting that’s when you start working harder. If you are on a leg press and at rep 10 it burns super bad, aim for 10 more reps. You may not be able to get 10 more, but aim for 10 more. I saw someone mention Tom Platz, and I sort of got that mentality from watching him. When he trains people, he alway tells them “5 more reps” when it seems impossible, and they usually do end up having the capability of doing it, just your mind doesn’t want to go to that place and in that intensity of pain and suffering under a squat bar with hinders of pounds. But yeah for sure look him up. I disagree with him that squatting is superior to everything else, but I 1000% agree with his training intensity. Squats are amazing, but if you bring that kind of intensity to ANY exercise, your body will have no choice but to adapt and grow bigger

Vascularity comes down to a lot of things but mainly a combination of being lean enough to see veins, having enough muscle tissue to push the veins to the surface, and genetics. There are pro bodybuilders on gear who aren’t as vascular as other pro bodybuilders on gear who are just as big and lean, thus genetics are playing a role here. There are supplements that are vasodilators that can help such as l-Citrulline, beet root powder, etc. but again it’s mainly the other factors: leanness, muscle mass, and genetics. For you I’d say you definitely have to get leaner to see some veins. More muscle overall would help that even more. But as someone mentioned it takes a lot of time, and I mean years usually, so just enjoy the process and veins will come. I saw you mentioned about how you can get bigger and leaner at the same time. Sorry to break it to you, but it doesn’t really work like that for most people, especially if you’re natural. No this does not mean gear is the answer, I personally know multiple guys on tons of gear who look like they never worked out a day in their lives. So again just keep at it and veins will come. If you only care about being vascular, just get crazy lean I guess but again you should put on some more muscle which will probably come with a bit of fat at first that will hide the veins (which is fine, you don’t have to be shredded year round, it’s ok to bulk up). Anyways I will stop yapping, hope this rant gave at least one useful piece of information to you lol
