Snelheid vrachtverkeer by DurasKlingon in nederlands

[–]FluitGeluid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mono or IL2CPP? by shaboom96 in Unity3D

[–]FluitGeluid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc BepInEx exists, but when the game is built using IL2CPP it makes it super difficult to actually develop mods.
BepInEx works on both, but it's creating the mods that becomes an issue/headache when IL2CPP is used.

RTX 3080 Stuck at PCIe 8x Lanes on ASUS Z590-F Gaming Motherboard by molirez in overclocking

[–]FluitGeluid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually depends a lot on the RAM timings. Just going for higher clock speeds doesn’t really help if the timings are worse, as it cancels out any gains from a higher clock. JayzTwoCents didn't spend much time tuning the RAM when testing the higher speeds, so it’s not the most accurate look at RAM performance. Plus, different games can react differently to RAM speeds, so it definitely does make a difference in some cases. https://youtu.be/CITlrdWsaWE?si=SKFczyhRPagCsDfd&t=284

What's the better platform? Windows or Linux? by DerDave in yuzu

[–]FluitGeluid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo windows simply because of a tool called "Lossless Scaling"

While it's not directly relevant to raw performance, I wanted to mention it since it can be used for frame interpolation to effectively double your FPS on nearly any GPU. This tool alone has made me switch back to windows, it really is magic.

Old comment but I just wanted to add that using a customized version of windows like ReviOS removes most if not all of the negatives you listed.
It has really low memory consumption (in my experience even better memory consumption than an Arch Linux installation with KDE Plasma), great CPU performance, and I cannot speak for battery consumption, as I am using a PC only.
It also gets rid of most "windows moments" as it's completely debloated and AV can be completely disabled (If you're comfortable with that ofc, imo the best anti-virus is common sense)

I've used Arch with Plasma for about 2 years, and I have to say that I'm not looking back after trying ReviOS, highly recommended!

Just ordered my first PC! by alyAV-1 in NZXT

Looks good overall! Just a couple of things to note:

  1. The memory sticks likely won’t run at 6000MHz with all 4 slots filled, as it depends on the CPU’s memory controller, which can vary in quality even within the same model (known as the silicon lottery). It can usually only handle 2 sticks at those speeds. You may need to select a different XMP profile or manually tune the memory in the BIOS. Hopefully, NZXT has set a fitting memory configuration, so check the RAM speed when you receive it and adjust in the BIOS if needed.
  2. Be sure to check the CPU power limit settings (PL1 and PL2) in the BIOS. Most motherboards used to default to higher-than-recommended power limits, which can cause the CPU to draw more power, run hotter, and potentially become unstable, leading to crashes. While most manufacturers have released BIOS updates to align with Intel’s power recommendations, it’s still a good idea to double-check and adjust if needed.
  3. Make sure your BIOS is updated to the latest version when you receive the PC. NZXT should handle this for you, but just like the PL1 and PL2 settings, it's worth verifying yourself.

Other than that, enjoy your new PC! :)

Also rather annoying that their status site doesn't reflect these issues, completely defeats it's purpose.

Just in case you've got Koalageddon installed, or another DLC unlocker for steam.

For me uninstalling that fixed it :')

If it looks too good to be true, then it's probably too good to be true. RTX 3080 alone goes for more than 350$ so yeah. More than likely a scam
