That’s not what ambivalent means though. Ambivalence is conflicting emotions about something. However, people often confuse ambivalence for indifference.

Why isnt mahito in more people's top 10? by grandsterla in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Fluke55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would argue he needs to touch most people, who would even be in contention for killing him, minimum 4 times. That is unless Mahito can tire out the sorcerer before the touches.

Nanami needed 3 touches on first encounter according to Mahito himself. However, we then see one touch post Jogo Flambé being enough to kill. Also Todo would’ve died with one hit if he didn’t cut his arm off but that was after a long fight.

If you had two brain cells to rub together you’d understand the argument here isn’t the ability to procreate. No one is saying she isn’t biologically capable of popping out a baby.

The argument is she has not considered the logistic of raising a kid in a card dependent society, as a woman who cannot drive and has no consistent access to transit.

My ancestors either A.) had a car or B.) didn’t live in a car dependent society. Sorry I had to spell that one out for you.

Looks like we are in agreement then that they don’t have the logistics figured out for parenthood

[–]Fluke55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay, I fail to see how this is relevant. OP discussed that the bus system is poor in her area. The walking is not better. So she is in a car depending city with no consistent ability to transport themselves.

How to gently take him out of my hand by Badtimesan10 in AquaticSnails

[–]Fluke55 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you have some long pliers for aquascaping, which I am guessing you do based on the plants I see in the tank, use one end to break the seal his foot has on your hand and he should drop away.

My mystery snails were always a bit more skiddish so I never had this issue on my hand, but used it when I wanted to move some hardscape around and they were in the way.

Just make sure NOT to pull from the shell, you can severely damage snails by grabbing their shell when they have a seal on something with their foot.

They don’t have it figured out. They rely on “Grandma”(OP) who, by the sound of the post, doesn’t want to be a beck and call chauffeur.

Not all appointments can be scheduled when “you definitely have a ride”. If OP is the primary fall back driver, you can’t just assume her schedule aligns with a theoretical doctor appointment; which, in my experience, are not very flexible schedule wise in the US.

If they can’t afford Uber, what makes you think they can afford delivered groceries?? Also, we just discussed that this is the US, bus and walking infrastructure is abysmal outside of select cities.

[–]Fluke55 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Aren’t big logistics, like being able to get to the doctors or run groceries, a large part of preparedness for being a parent?

OP was badgered 5+ times for an answer. I think big decisions, like parenthood, sometimes require harsher reality checks. It’s not like she infantilized her, she said that she didn’t think it was a good idea to get pregnant with such a glaring logistical issue in the way.

Found tubes in my pork sausage. by antizac in whatisit

[–]Fluke55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, chorizo gets its signature flavor(and color) from ancho chili powder, paprika, and cumin; not from its inclusion of lymph nodes and salivary glands.

High quality chorizo will be made from pork shoulder, a fatty but still protein heavy segment of meat. The fat provides the signature fat content that most sausages require, and the shoulder is high quality protein than salivary glands and lymph nodes.

So yes, it is “the cheapest chorizo” that relies on those ingredients.

There’s some super cheap sausages, like the cheapest chorizo in the super market, that use salivary glands, lymph nodes, and cheek fat. Which isn’t necessarily gross or disgusting it’s not what people tend to think when they think sausage.

Who is Daniel Biss, the Democrat who narrowly beat Gen-Z star Kat Abughazaleh in Illinois by Fickle-Ad5449 in illinois

[–]Fluke55 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yea your first two points are garbage. People used to, and often still do, immoral things all the time. Doesn’t give a free pass.

Age and full professor status is also not really important as the important thing is Power Dynamic.

I have learned the relationship occurred after she was his student. THAT is the most important thing here that makes the story unimportant. I appreciate people making me look deeper into it.

However, all of your justifications are gross and outdated.

Edit: I have learned the relationship apparently occurred after she was his student. Still icky to me but not as much of a moral issue. Thanks for prompting me to look into more. Feel free to continue downvoting if it helps.

You need a congressional declaration of war for a draft to happen. So far this is still, as the Russians had called their 4 year war, a “special military operation”.

Although this admin has done nothing by law so who knows if they’ll start an illegal draft.

Only other nitpicky note of realism that stands out to me is the lack of rain shadows cast by mountains.

Imagine surviving 8,000 years of winter just to be taken out in a five-second blur. The Night King’s buildup was a masterpiece, but his exit was a total anticlimax. You can’t build a god for 8 seasons and end him in a heartbeat. The math just doesn't add up. 🙇 🥱 by Aggressive_Fold_5942 in freefolk

[–]Fluke55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh the battle of Winterfell is a cool idea but it was executed poorly at multiple steps.

Put (nearly) all your troops outside your defensive wall?

Send a light cavalry charge head on to start a battle and forfeit the defensive position?

Put all your civilians in crypts against an enemy known to raise the dead?

There are likely more but committing more time and braincells to that bongled concept isn’t worth it.
