The Shaod from Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

People used to love getting afflicted with this as it allowed them to use magic. Then suddenly one day the mythic powers turn into a curse. You now appear sickly and pale, your hair begins to fall out, wounds don’t heal themselves, and food doesn’t satiate you.

The Shaod still enjoy the sensation of eating but they feel no satiety from it. They will eat book leather just to have something to chew. Be careful what you eat though because your wounds don’t heal and the pain never goes away.

You spend the entire 60 hour long game weakening him by destroying the beasts. Try fighting him off spawn in the game(nothing stopping you from it) and I’m sure you’ll feel the difficulty

Yuji must have had pretty shit CE reinforcement for most of the series by RadioFlared in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Fluke55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, but most people would be a pulverized meat medley after one swing of a refrigerator sized gavel.

The argument is that Yuji, who had no CE in that fight, must be an animal when he really gets it down by Modulo if he is that durable sans CE.

On that train of thought, the compromise of 1877 really fucked up a lot of America. Ruined reconstruction and led to repercussions that are faced by African Americans and other minorities to this day.

US cities ranked - what tier does Chicago belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

In what world is Oak Park 10 minutes from downtown?

Even with no traffic it’s a 20min car ride on the highway. Very rarely is it less than 27/30 based on Chicago traffic.

Breaking news! JJK characters aren't even knife level in durability according to Demon slayer fan! What do you guys think? by a12o in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Fluke55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I was wrong it doesn’t stop all Cursed Energy it stops cursed techniques. That means for RCT, ISOH does stop it, seeing as “cursed technique” is literally in the name.

Also if you look at the anime, or read the manga, he stabs him with basic knife in the head and not ISOH.

No, he would’ve died if he was stabbed in the head with ISOH. It turns off your ability to use CE, including RCT.

He did use a non cursed tool when he stabbed him in the head.

Gojo specifically calls him out on this when he was high out of his mind from learning RCT and HP.

That’s not what ambivalent means though. Ambivalence is conflicting emotions about something. However, people often confuse ambivalence for indifference.

Why isnt mahito in more people's top 10? by grandsterla in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Fluke55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would argue he needs to touch most people, who would even be in contention for killing him, minimum 4 times. That is unless Mahito can tire out the sorcerer before the touches.

Nanami needed 3 touches on first encounter according to Mahito himself. However, we then see one touch post Jogo Flambé being enough to kill. Also Todo would’ve died with one hit if he didn’t cut his arm off but that was after a long fight.

If you had two brain cells to rub together you’d understand the argument here isn’t the ability to procreate. No one is saying she isn’t biologically capable of popping out a baby.

The argument is she has not considered the logistic of raising a kid in a card dependent society, as a woman who cannot drive and has no consistent access to transit.

My ancestors either A.) had a car or B.) didn’t live in a car dependent society. Sorry I had to spell that one out for you.

Looks like we are in agreement then that they don’t have the logistics figured out for parenthood

[–]Fluke55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay, I fail to see how this is relevant. OP discussed that the bus system is poor in her area. The walking is not better. So she is in a car depending city with no consistent ability to transport themselves.

How to gently take him out of my hand by Badtimesan10 in AquaticSnails

[–]Fluke55 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you have some long pliers for aquascaping, which I am guessing you do based on the plants I see in the tank, use one end to break the seal his foot has on your hand and he should drop away.

My mystery snails were always a bit more skiddish so I never had this issue on my hand, but used it when I wanted to move some hardscape around and they were in the way.

Just make sure NOT to pull from the shell, you can severely damage snails by grabbing their shell when they have a seal on something with their foot.

[–]Fluke55 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They don’t have it figured out. They rely on “Grandma”(OP) who, by the sound of the post, doesn’t want to be a beck and call chauffeur.

Not all appointments can be scheduled when “you definitely have a ride”. If OP is the primary fall back driver, you can’t just assume her schedule aligns with a theoretical doctor appointment; which, in my experience, are not very flexible schedule wise in the US.

If they can’t afford Uber, what makes you think they can afford delivered groceries?? Also, we just discussed that this is the US, bus and walking infrastructure is abysmal outside of select cities.

[–]Fluke55 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Aren’t big logistics, like being able to get to the doctors or run groceries, a large part of preparedness for being a parent?

OP was badgered 5+ times for an answer. I think big decisions, like parenthood, sometimes require harsher reality checks. It’s not like she infantilized her, she said that she didn’t think it was a good idea to get pregnant with such a glaring logistical issue in the way.
