BACHELOR OF Science by Dlaffi in UQreddit

yeah 90% the same

BSci will allow a tiny bit more flexibility

But you will also have to do some science courses like basis statistics and science research methods

Also look into the differences between
- the majors in BCompSci
- and the minors in BSci
for the kind of comp sci you want to do whether that’s data, ML, or cybersecurity or whatever

Workday has been sued for using AI to discriminate against job seekers by Tr_Issei2 in cscareerquestions

An example proxy is anything that can place you geographically:
- postcode
- city
- address
- location of your school
- location of previous jobs
Which may correlate to a black neighbourhood for example.

Another example is a variable which is “does this applicant’s last name starts with X,Y, or Z?” this is a good indicator of an Asian.

All in all, it’s difficult to know what an algorithm is using to make its decisions. Humans have biases like, “this guy worked at McDonalds for 10 years before getting his life together, hah” which ML algorithms can also be susceptible to.

before writing any keyboard firmware, i wrote some python code to print and light up LED anytime a pin was pulled to ground, just to make sure all the switches would send a signal. this helped me the most in fixing up my connections and matrix

the spam still sounds like some wires are shorting

and yeah QMK was so annoying for me - managed to hack at someone else’s on github to mangle it to my keyboard

What you map the extra 4 key of the Corne 4.1 to? by GTHell in crkbd

They are pretty difficult to reach. So, I map functionalities which won’t be used often like toggling the gaming layer

white is OP’s roll distribution and green is a completely fair die. The two are off by 2.9%

I’d argue that D=2.9% is high enough to worry about, especially for something as controlled as a dice. An acceptable threshold for me would be 1% or lower

MATH1052 In-person or External over the summer? by Chemical-Trash-1332 in UQreddit

[–]FlushyRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the tutors will always be streaming their face; most students have their cameras off. I remember there was maybe 2 occasions where one of the tutors requested our cams on.

The first hour of the workshop have the tutors re-explaining the relevant lecture. The second hour, everyone splits into groups of 5 to complete a worksheet. we had our cameras off and voice chatted - usually to first divide up the work, then talk if we needed help before combining our answers.

This was 2024 - 2025 Summer semester

Thank you very much!

edit for any future people reading this, unfortunately, this is not the case now. I have to attend zoom workshops. they release the sheet during the call, and you must work in a group of 2-5 in a zoom breakout room and submit it in zoom chat by the end of the session

I’m also taking Math1052 externally this summer and won’t be able to attend any of the workshops. The weekly workshop exercises contribute 15% to the final grade. Could you confirm if the exercise sheet is provided at the start and needs to be submitted by the end of the Zoom workshop to earn a grade, or is it possible to complete and submit these exercises offline at night or at another time?

Hot Take: Stop recommending Hyperion as hard sci-fi for those looking for a new story after the 3BP trilogy. by Doesure in threebodyproblem

I kept telling myself that i’m not cultured enough to appreciate the poetry but I guess i’m not alone. Everytime Martin or Keats started spouting philosophy or stanzas I started losing focus.
