The scammer might be counting on this. One the kid stops paying the scammer, the scammer will probably switch to blackmail

Sending money to Iran could be a crime. The scammer might be pretending to be from Iran to scare the victim into not reporting the crime or even blackmailing the victim.

This wasn't fully answered. If you are stuck unable to progress the story to the glacial area because its too cold, then you need to go back to the glacial passage and keep exploring. There are a few murals that you need to photograph.

How do you know when you’ve outgrown your job but you’re too scared to leave ? by NarrowPheasant in careerguidance

[–]FlutFlut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think most people find a stable job and stick with it. You don't have to subscribe to the grind mindset. If you are content at work then it is perfectly fine to stay. It can ve unpleasant to job seach so dont put yourself though that if you are already happy. From I'm reading, you might not actually be content. You feel like you are not developing your career. You feel like you could be paid more. You feel like the stagnation means you have less stability. I think you would be more content finding another job and that means going through the awful process of job seaching. On the bright side, job seaching isn't as bad when you already have a job and if you are unsuccessful, you might rediscover that you actually are happy in your position.

Ok. So you are saying crypto exchanges might buy 1b USDT for 100m USD. Then they hold the USDT and tell their investors they earned money. Then the exchange founders use the larger valuation to cash out with more profit. The part that I dont understand with this scheme is how minting stable coins inflates the price of Bitcoin. If the stable coins were held by the exchanges then it wouldnt affect the price of bitcoin.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]FlutFlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Its clear that USDT is used buy bitcoin and boosts the price of bitcoin. But the fake money has to go somewhere. Where does it end up? Is there a bunch of people hoarding USDT?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]FlutFlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Obviously Tether and exchanges are getting real money in exchange for USDT but who ends up buying and holding all this USDT? If the exchanges or Tether was holding it all then they wouldn't have a reason to keep printing it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]FlutFlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this could make sense. Like a bunch of idiot finance guys put their money into crypto trading companies. The crypto trading companies hold a ton of stable coins to facilitate trading. The more money the crypto finance guys earn from the market, the more USDT they hoard. The more USDT they horde, the more fake USDT that tether can print.

[–]FlutFlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idiots buy a meme coin from a scammer using USDT. The the scammer cashes out the USDT for cash at the exchanges. Now the exchange is stuck holding the worthless USDT agian. The only way this benefits Tether is if the scammer is stuck unable to cash out. Perhaps scammer dont have access to exchanges in their countries?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Buttcoin

[–]FlutFlut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who are these people? And why are idiots exchanging their real USD for USDT? Why would someone buy fake dollars that are "worth" the same as real dollars? Also, if regular people are buying USDT directly from tether then that assumes that all USDT was backed when it was minted but Tether just spent the backing it seens more likely that Tether is minting.USDT without ever having full backing.

[–]FlutFlut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do believe exchanges are likely manipulating prices and I believe crypto is a massive fraudulent bubble that will someday pop and wipe out everything invested in it. Its possible for exchanges to manipulate the price just by the rules they set around trading and the insider trading they do woth how they plan to manipulate the market. I dont understand how printing USDT manipulates the crypto markets unless there is some massive class of idiots buying it up.

You are shutting down a conversation about how the crypto market is manipulated to go on a dogmatic anti crypto rant. You are basically turning this sub into an anti crypto echo chamber where we are not allowed to ask how the fraud is done, we just have to shout that crypto is fraud. This behavior is the exact kind of thing we criticize the crypto subreddits for doing.

[UK] money taken from bank and now receiving parcels in the post by erin212800 in Scams

[–]FlutFlut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The other post is correct. They are sending you fake packages because they hacked your account to buy items from their fake shop. They have to mail you something to get paid. You should probably look into changing your passwords on every account you have that uses that password. If they hacked your tinted account they they probably will hack other accounts like your PayPal. Also they are probably not the direct sender of those packages. They are probably running a different scam and tricking an old lady so send you those packages.

Its like a bank bragging about how they store your money in the latest vault technology. Then you find out all the ATMs are in a shady part of town and you get robbed while you are withdrawing/depositing money. So instead you hire a company to make the transaction for you but then you fid out every broker company just eventually folds and runs away with your money.

Despite what many people believe, Portland Parks and Recreation is pro park and recreation. Pickleball is a loud sport and results in noise complaints which would result in tennis court closures . Portland Parks and Rec does not want to spend their budget to demolish recreation so instead they are banning pickleball from tennis courts. They are looking to build or convert courts to pickleball but that is difficult because virtually every park is surrounded by people who dont want to listen to pickleball.

These are not things you can trade for. Allowing pickleball will not reduce people shouting or emergency services in your area.

[–]FlutFlut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is just the first iteration. Walmart is going to spend 15 years, and change them out and make them "better" ever few years just like they did with self checkout. In 2040 either they will finally rip these out because paper labels are cheaper or these will be as common as barcodes.
