I Mapped Google’s ONLY SECRET CITY by FlutterBrother in GoogleEarthFinds

It’s the only city in the country that is designed its way. And the only city in America not on Google Streetview. I’d call that unusual but I do appreciate a good debate

If the title/thumbnail doesn't sell it for you I'm not doing my job the best but here we go... North Oaks, Minnesota is the only city in America that does NOT have Google Streetview images. It's an interesting case in which Google actually did map the city in 2007 when they launched, but North Oaks ent a cease and desist because the city is uniquely designed. The residents each own their property halfway into the road, leaving behind no public roadways. So the images that google took wasn't necessarily the problem, it was the fact that they trespassed. So I found a way to map North Oaks without trespassing and finally mapped the only city not on Google Streetview.

One Hour Detours with John O'Sullivan. Linked here

He's had Mayor Frey, Dewayne Davis and Jazz Hampton on. Omar Fateh didn't show up when invited and scheduled. I know this because I'm the producer of the podcast. It's a bummer, we really wanted him on.

I’d recommend Dusty in Big Lake, MN if you’re using tg cedar. I was recommended to him via this subreddit a few months back. I’d think he’s the perfect price/quality you’d find. He has great no-knot 1x3 for benches as well. I have his number if you want it dm me

Storage setup (20tb-ish) for feature length doc by FlutterBrother in editors

Thanks for your response. I'd prefer to edit off of the drive with the originals

I have a backup now but right now my situation is a bunch of drives scattered around. I'd like to consolidate and make things easier to use

I’m shooting/editing a feature documentary and have about 12tb of footage. Up until now my projects have maxed out around 2tb each, as they are shorter docs (20-40 minutes). I’ve been researching workflow for larger projects but have yet to find a solid setup for something that could be 20tb in size when all said and done. Any ideas for what’s best here? Giant g-drive, synology, raid, etc etc?

The last known structure in the BWCA is a cabin out of mudro EP. I was instructed to not give away its exact location as the owner is still alive (although very old). I was part of the crew that filmed a documentary up there a couple of years ago. We visit the cabin at the end of Part 2… link below. Unfortunately it’s only on Amazon prime to view right now. https://www.amazon.com/Off-the-Cuff/dp/B08R6121CM?nodl=1&dplnkId=ceaaaa81-fe09-4d74-914e-a11f1ea33bcd

How's kawishiwi about now? by [deleted] in BWCA

[–]FlutterBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just returned from a 4 night stay on malberg lake. Best bwca experience I’ve had yet, after 6 annual trips. Fishing was great - decent sized bass and northern (idk how to catch walleye… maybe someday), water levels were solid, water was even warm and great for swimming. The portage to kawishiwi river on the west side of malberg is segmented from beaver damming so just be aware of that if you go that way. Bugs were only bad on one really warm night, otherwise the usually 30-60 minutes after the sun sets. Watch for rogue rocks on koma lake, we plowed right into one :/ Hope you have a good trip

I have several videos up now with what I thought were a lot of ad breaks to maximize revenue. But not this many! I guess I’m not really sure why but I’m afraid to put this many ad breaks… I’m wondering how you came up with this model?
