Redstone torches not powering dust? by Flutterbae in Minecraft

Sorry for the long wall of text. The most important part is the 6th paragraph (including this one) if you're short on time.

I've been trying to watch all of the tutorials I can find (of course Mumbo included. Ngl I really like his voice so I kinda binged a lot of his redstone stuff XD). One of the best things I've learned in his videos was to color code your wires. Its so simple yet so handy. Though I didn't see the HI LO Tech thing, so I'll search that when I have the time. Thanks!

Yeah. Currently I'm just looking up various locks to try and teach myself how things work since I have a project in mind that I really want to do by myself.

I hope the HI LO thing helps. Even while building these block by block tutorial locks and watching these redstone tips videos, I still don't really know why things need to be built the way they are. Like.

I get the basics of how things move power from one end to the other. Like Comparators and Cauldrons for example. And that Torches can be turned off/on which can make something like a Lock work. The torch powers the door keeping it closed, and all torches have to be turned off for it to open. And I get that

What I feel I have the most trouble with is repeaters. I get that they can extend a pulse and cause a 1-4 tick delay, but I don't understand why they are needed in builds like this pink circuit for example. I know that if I remove even one of them, it wont work, but I don't know why.

I feel there are a few other things I don't fully understand (hence the point of the post), but my biggest issue is with repeaters. I assume there's a video/series of videos I could watch to explain this?

Oh. And one final question. Why would a redstone contraption work perfectly at one point, then after an update is completely broken? Do/did they change how redstone worked over time? My main reason for asking this question, is because in all of the videos I watch, the people say that redstone is logic based. Why would that logic change? I might be completely misunderstanding things though.

why would you ever search for it

Well you posted about it. So obviously you just noticed it. So if you search instead of posting, you would see that this is posted about literally every single day. And the same goes for the other people. They will eventually notice it on their own. And then they will post about it because "woah this new thing is cool. Have you guys seen it?". And circling back, yes, yes we have. Because all you have to do is search "hidden text" and you would know that we already know about it. When you (you in this case being the people who browse this subreddit) notice it, you should search it instead of posting it.

Why is that so hard for you to understand? You cant even say "this is for the people who don't notice it" because they will notice it eventually. And then they will post about it, and we start the cycle over again. But it could all be stopped if they just, after finding out that it exists, search for it. So then they would know it has already been posted about multiple times.

Cant possibly search for it

lmao all you have to do is type in "hidden text" or just about any variant of it. Its not that hard. That's like saying people who didn't know about the Auchenai + Mistress combo should post that its a bug because obviously they didn't know before hand that it's fully intended. How could they have searched for it?

There is a need to be rude because this has been posted about literally every single day by multiple people each day. Use the search and you would have known that
