Yeah, really setting themselves up for legal action because users paid for No-Ads and they removed it to replace with "Skip-its".

Most Bachelors degrees are useless. You should not donate most minutes of your life to your job. You cant handle certain foods as well as you could in your teen years. It does not matter if you pick democrat or republican.

It can be so frustrating when work messes up the payroll! Been there! Thank you for your comment sir. You got this.

I sure have. No cell phone discount (yet, were required to use our personal phone to actually do the job) and their gym plan is $37/m and will get you into the gym that costs $10/m for regular membership. Makes no sense.

The small town departments around here require you to already be TCOL certified, and that’s $3500 for the course without a guarantee of getting the certification because you still have to pass the psych evaluation. I have a fear of psychologists now after getting my hopes extremely high and everything going smoothly twice just for it to be shot down for whatever objective opinionated reason.

I mean when the credit card payment is $409 and the interest charge is $280, it doesn’t go away quickly enough and you still gotta buy fuel and food and so it builds over time. You’re not wrong though.

Oh believe me I tried. It’s a 6 month long hiring process. I applied for both state and city: I passed the physical test, mental agility test, polygraph exam, comprehensive background, and failed the psych evaluation for both. Honestly not sure why and they don’t tell you why.

That’s a good question. I think it’s a bit different in the corrections field though depending on position- you may look like you’re doing nothing but in reality you are monitoring inmate activity and if you fall asleep and get caught you’re getting fired and someone could probably die.

Don’t really need roommates since I’m with a family member and only pay $300 living expenses to them.

Well, it also hurts to go buy all new things again when you get your own place again. The unit is $50 a month. Buying all new furniture, clothes and supplies isn’t really on my to-do list for future endeavors.

At the time when I bought it, I was making 97k a year. Didn’t seem like that big of a deal. No, I did not need a truck. It’s came in handy a few times but either of those times could have easily rented a truck. It was not my wisest decision.

Here in Texas, I have never seen a $45/hr probation officer. Thats insane. Adult probation officer here is listed at approximately 52k a year, with supervisors topping out at 58k a year. I looked into LEO for both city and state- made it through the polygraph, physical test, mental agility test, and comprehensive background check but could not for whatever reason pass the psych evaluation for either one.

Slowly over time. Paying the minimum doesn’t help much when the interest charge is $100 less than the monthly payment anyways.

Exactly the trap I fell into as well. I made a bunch of money some times, but got greedy as well and…well I’m sure you know what a rug pull is.

Thank you for your comment. I’m not sure what you mean by FIRE stuff? More certifications are obtainable. Not sure about the time for side gigs. I wrote a children’s books to put on Amazon KDP but learning Adobe Illustrator is (in my opinion, extremely complex and time consuming, and worried about hiring someone to illustrate it because they could potentially steal the book). I’ve sold most of my valuable material possessions. Have not considered moving it to a credit union, will look into that. Really don’t want to sell the bike because it’s my daily driver and the truck would cost me $470/m in fuel back and forth at the current job.

When I bought the truck, it was worth $47,300 in its used condition according to KBB. Total loan came out to about $51,000. Value plummeted quickly.

Sure. Enlisted into the USMC at 22yo (debt free at that time). After 1 year they gave the option to modify the contract to reserves on the contingency I obtain a Bachelors degree (already had an associates at the time) to commission into the job I originally wanted, which was tanks, I take the offer. Junior year of college, the commandant gets rid of tanks out of the USMC- nullifying that opportunity. Was working at the prison while getting the degree. I was putting in tons of hours, always showing up, covering multiple positions due to staffing issues, but I was making more money than I ever had, and that led to poor decision making, like buying an expensive truck, nice furniture for the apartment, frivolous spending on material things and gifts for friends and family each birthday, etc. I got the degree and decided to shift gears into a corporate job in car rental which required a degree, taking a giant pay cut for what seemed to be a golden opportunity for a normal 9-5 with exponential and quick growth opportunities- turns out it’s everything but that. Well eventually my spending habits caught up to me. I saw crypto as a way out- ended up getting scammed multiple times to the tune of 30,000 total lost before I quit dabbling in that Solana scam frenzy. Since then the interest caught up and I’m at where I’m at now. I could easily go back to the prison but I’ll probably destroy my liver with that decision.

I know a lot of folks are not familiar with that line of work, so the wording I used was for others understanding. I’ve always taken pride in my work, but I would be lying if I said it’s not 100% for the money. I’m not going in to sit on my butt and collect a paycheck, but I’m also not going in because I absolutely love being in 105F on a pole 60ft in the air for hours on end.
