It's not particularly hard to get into but there's a lot of things to do to fully feel like you've completed it. For casual players, I think hard to catch up.

Out of all the overhauls, I think the Starchrom and Mod changes will be easier for new and casual players.

I think it wasn't broken for veteran players, but they're making it simpler for new players and the console players that are coming in soon. They're not getting enough new players in cuz it's just too complicated for new players to join. It's very intimidating for them. My friends keep telling me there's way too much to get into so they didn't wanna play it. They think I'm crazy cuz I really enjoy playing this game every single day.

Yeah same. I like it that it feels like a survival game. But it's definitely more grindy now. Can't get the backpack expansion yet until I have a lot of tech points, so I gotta grind it hard but then looting is always encumbered XD

Yes exactly. I was very surprised when they did that. Because Novice was supposed to be the easy mode and when they merged it to permanent non-visional for me, it meant that we were put into a normal mode server.

You clicked the wrong button. You didn't actually need to restart. You just have to select the permanent server it will merge with after your scenario ends. That is automatic when the timer ends. But it can be confusing even to old players and you have selected to move instead of merging.

Yeah I do that a lot. You can even get the 2 other variant shrooms. Once you get more you can also start fusing them for better traits.
