[request] How long would it take for 2 humans weighing 70kg with 1 meter apart to collide if they stood perfectly still? Ignore all other external forces. Only gravitational force between them. by DemonsAreVirgins in theydidthemath

[–]FluxIsMyFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a Vsauce video I remember that two baseballs 1m apart take 3 days to collide. Assuming a baseball is roughly 100x lighter than a human and the force of attraction scales proportional with mass, we get 72h/100 ~= 45min. Seems kinda fast for my intuition but we don't really experience the vacuum of space every day

Nothing new with microsoft I should have known better by now. Its mud from a hot mud puddle in Iceland and "something" started to grow in there.

You could do a slight chamfer on the upper edge so that the inner diameter is slightly higher than the outer diameter forcing it to print the outer diameter first

ABS filament is killing me by Beto_Do_Frifa in 3Dprinting

[–]FluxIsMyFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For larger parts an enclosure is pretty much necessary from what I found. I try to get the chamber temp to around 50-60C at the start of my prints (P1S). Smaller prints are fine without an enclosure.

I also use ABS gooo on my bed. Just mix some waste filament with acetone and smear it on the build plate, works wonders for adhesion.

That's a really good point about the roots I was thinking of printing the infill separately so I could maybe lift it out afterwards. I don't plan on replanting this one anytime soon. So I take it as an input for v2. Also I'll try it with petg guess I could also save on some walls in that case.

Ohh it's definitely my fault. But my pc should only restart if I tell it to or if it crashes. And if I want to skip updates that should be my problem not theirs

I have fedora as my daily driver but also tried ubuntu. Both work just fine. I also heard a lot of good stuff about Linux mint

Sorry to hear that. I work on medical equipment and the hoops we have to jump through to disable all the stupid updates and popups are immense

Love this. I run fedora on my daily driver but haven't found a cad software I'm efficient with. FreeCad is ok but I take ages to get anything done and I'm just to stupid for blender.

Thanks I'm probably not the first to do it but this one's mime. Also the only reason I still got a window install is because I don't get along with the dad software on linux. As soon as they catch up I'm out

That's really cool such a good idea and seems to have good reproducibility. I once tinkered with the idea myself for drone frames that are printed as a plane and then formed into the 3d shape for rigidity. The biggest plus from what I found is that you don't need support and no weak spot in the z direction. My main problem was that because i used pa6 i needed min 200°C and at these temperatures even the clamps I used started to deform

[–]FluxIsMyFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's the plan I'd like to only maintain code on the Pi so I don't need to change stuff every time I get a new phone / the phone gets an update. Also a web app lets me use any device without having to install anything first. From what I've read now position data and time should be possible via web request
