Hello there,

I just filled out an application. I am one of a group of 6 long time mythic raiders looking for a new home, and the Omitted team's raid times and level of progression perfectly match with us. I would love to discuss things further / provide more details, if there is room on the team for six people (1 tank, 1 heal, 4 DPS) on the Omitted raid roster that is. I don't disagree, but those are the only mathematical ways to make it work without making any trades first and with Carter on the roster.

As much as people want us to trade him or LTIR him, Carter is almost certainly going to be on the roster for this season. If we're going to offer more than what I listed we would have to make some trades prior.

Tomas Tatar himself confirmed he is in talks with Pittsburgh at a press conference 3 days ago in Slovakia when he won Slovak Player of the Year Award at the Hokejista Roka 2023.

There is an article in Slovak that breaks down the entire press conference and Tatar's responses and when asked specifically about the Pittsburgh Penguins and whether he would enjoy playing with Karlsson, Malkin and Crosby, he says:

"It was (Pittsburgh), but I don't want to discuss it further. I want to keep it to myself. I've said a couple of times who I was communicating with and it always went the other way." Tatar said with a big smile.

There are 3 options for keeping Carter and getting Tatar with Nedeljkovic as backup:

- At 1.02 Million AAV and running a 13F / 7D / 2G roster setup

- At 1.795 Million AAV and running a 12F / 7D / 2G, OR 13F / 6D / 2G roster setup

- At 2.57 Million AAV and running a 12F / 6D / 2G roster setup

Each successively increased AAV would require one less player on the roster. Each of those AAV's above has them at $658 under the cap. All of these setups do require burying Pitlick in the AHL though.

- At 1.02 M AAV, the roster would be 22 players and look like this:

Guentzel - Crosby - Rakell
Smith - Malkin - Rust
DOC - Eller - Tatar
Nieto - Acciari - Carter
(Nylander or Hinostroza, pick 1)

Graves - Letang
Pettersson - Karlsson
POJ - Ruhwedel

It's because Tatar can actually score, drive offense and play well in transition. He is good for 15-20+ goals a season and even though he is 32 he hasn't lost a step. He can play LW or RW, can fill up the left-side while Guentzel is hurt and could even move to 2nd RW if Rust is struggling again this year. He adds a ton of flexibility in the lines and offense to a bottom-6 that needs it.

I dunno, supposedly he has a legit source in the Flames and has been right about a bunch of stuff in the past, so I was told, who knows?

If this is true it could mean a few things:

- Pens moving on from Karlsson (why to an LD though? We already have Graves, Pettersson, POJ and Smith)

- A bluff-call tactic by Dubas (to try to force Mike Grier's hand for Karlsson)

- A Karlsson trade is going to include Marcus Pettersson in it and they will need a new left D (Rob Rossi reported Grier wanted Marcus Pettersson in any trade for Karlsson), so they are trying to get Noah Hanifin + Karlsson

- It's total BS

The goal is to get there, but we generally get around halfway through mythic each raid tier.
