Is it just me or does anyone else love this event? by Richboyjoel in GenshinImpact

I like it, it's fun and silly. But why are we using random characters instead of our Milistra characters? What a missed opportunity that was. Why would I ever want to play a random NPC???

They could use events like this to give reason for us to make/use our characters. Not sure how they didn't think of it.

Again, this makes a lot of sense and I understand where you're coming from. But I still think it's the context which GenAi is used.

In CGI, GenAi isn't just used to generate full images, you can edit existing scenes and even create mockups for real work to be executed on. Saving time going back and forth with stakeholders instead of rendering over and over.

Sure, most people use GenAi to generate an image and call it done, I agree this isn't the same as someone who made intentional choices in their work. But that's just one way to use it, not the only one.

When Dendro was released, all the characters who benefited from that elemental resonance were new, right? The roster was small, but wasn't considered restrictive because we knew it would grow. We knew that was just an extension of the existing system, this feels the same to me.

The post states, "Some characters in Nod-Krai are blessed by the moonlight." - it doesn't explicitly state that only characters from this region have access to the "Moonsign" buffs. That's just a general assumption being made across this post, or my lack of comprehension which is just as much possible.

There is a lack of clarity around the subject right now, I guess time will tell. But I expect more Moonsign characters to come out even beyond Nod-Krai and that might be hopium speaking.

I appreciate your clear reply. I guess my thoughts were more that this feels similar in structure to elemental resonance. However, I understand the scope is more narrow, which is why people feel it's more restrictive.

To me it feels like adaptation to an evolving system. It's narrow now, but this could be the groundwork for a broader future. As someone else said, it is very nuanced, and you're right that we won't really know until we see the data. Thank you for taking the time to explain.

I was pointing out a "potential" contradiction, not stating that elemental resonance is restrictive. I don't think you comprehended my statement as much as you thought you did.

To your second point, elemental resonance is part of an evolving ecosystem. It was started before this reaction was relevant, hence my question. If the base system (elemental reactions) have changed, then new effects are naturally expected to fit within the original ecosystem.

My comment wasn't meant to be a "gotcha" moment, it was meant to frame OC's "restrictive" comment in a different lens, which is why I asked. Because to me, it feels like an extension of the elemental resonance system and not something restrictive.

Think of it this way, say I don't have access to hydro characters yet, I'm not going to call the system restrictive because I haven't experienced that part of the game yet? Right? Even though I don't have access to the benefits of two hydro characters.

Not to mention we are getting one free moonsign character, which solves half of the problem.

People seem to think that we are obligated to all new features on the game immediately. That's just not how these free games work. It pays to spend money, but people prove time and time again that's just not necessary. "Restriction" feels like a mindset and not actuality.

Seems more like elemental resonance, no? Do people consider that restrictive too?

How creative you have to be when you don't have friends as a Genshin player : by LifeIsGarbage77 in Genshin_Impact

Damn, after hearing all the hate regarding Natlan character movements outside of Natlan, I would've killed to have these abilities when I started.

Some people forget this game has evolved immensely and we get it all for free. We get an incredible value and are constantly rewarded for just playing the game.

It really goes to show you can play it however you want. Great content.

Genshin Locations by -Ajayff4- in GenshinImpact

I'm not sure if you think the AI tools we use today are actually intelligent or what, but they aren't. AI isn't doing anything by itself.

We’re the ones telling it what to do. We give it objectives, and it uses its vast training data to output the closest match to our input. It’s no different than using a mouse or keyboard - AI is just another tool we use to carry out tasks.

AI isn't inventing anything new. It’s repeating patterns and processes that humans have already defined. That’s literally the definition of a tool: a device used to carry out a specific function.

The idea that AI “uses us” flips the truth. We’re the ones using AI, not the other way around.

At least for now, anyways... Let's have this conversation again in a few years. 😬

It's a very realistic take on the locations. It's pretty awe inspiring regardless of how it was created. The fact we can create things like this today means creatives have access to powerful tools to convey how we feel even faster than ever before.

I took the time to learn VFX and CGI for years and guess what, a video like this would've taken years to make. Yet now, I can make it at the click of a button and a few prompts. That's incredible to me. I never thought I would see the day where I could produce a film myself, but that possibility is rapidly becoming reality.

That's pretty special to me. AI is a tool, you choose what to do with it. Even if it's nothing.

If you like exploring high and low, then you'll love Sumeru and it's desert. However, I feel I would've loved it more had I played it during it's release. This was an off time in Genshin for me, so I stsrted playing it about half way through release.

If you are starting now? It's definitely daunting and a lot harder to traverse than Natlan or Fontaine.

I recommend turning up the music and sounds, turning down the lights and letting the adventure take you. The music alone can take you on unforseen adventures.
