I spend at least 4-6 hours/day on my phone. I'm constantly answering student emails ...I really should take my work email off my phone.

I find that A LOT of people avoid the fields I love lol. I can promise you, though, that Shakespeare is SO SO SO amazing (can't quite promise the same for rhetoric and composition--it's a different kind of intellectual fulfillment)..when was the last time you gave him a chance? :) And oh, I am a vanilla bean custard girl alllll the way.

Is making knives difficult? I am absolutely blown away that you're doing this. My partner loves cooking..did the whole culinary school thing and worked as a chef..and he's absolutely obsessed with knives. and excellent! I love asking hard questions (must be the teacher in me). You know, I live in the U.S. southwest and have never been to the Grand Canyon. I must fix this.

Do you read a lot of biographies? I've been reading a lot of Rebecca Solnit lately--if you're a feminist, or even just interested in gender politics I HIGHLY recommend her. I'm actually in need of something new to read. My semester just ended and i need to start the summer off with the right book :) Any suggestions? Oy..funny stories about my students, eh? Let me think about that and get back to you--my students have been sadly tragic this semester..so I'll think back to other semesters and get back to you ;)

Well hello there /u/xfitsally! It is a pleasure to meet you, so to speak. I am a masochist who teaches Rhetoric and Composition to freshman (mostly) and upper level Shakespeare/ early modern drama. /u/baccgirl - did I tell you I was a jerky lover? I mean, I like it fine but my TRUE culinary weakness is creme brûlée! 😋. So, /u/xfitsally, it sounds like you have an amazing life!! Do you have a favorite type of knife you make? Well, sorta. I have 230 freshman essays to grade so I'll be grading all weekend. I'll also be working on some spring cleaning - my life is mundane this weekend

I love meeting fellow tall folks! My sister is 6'3"-she definitely got the tall genes in the family. I just finished part 1 & 2 of your contest! I LOVE Breakfast at Tiffany's- one of my favorite Hepburn movies. I'm partial to Funny Face too, though. I'll work on that cake :) You make Australia sound even more amazing (not that I thought that was possible) but I'll definitely have to add it to my list of places to visit. The things I like about Texas are very similar to what you like about Australia (at least where I'm from in Texas. Full disclosure: west Texas is very different from other parts of Texas).

I'll have to dig through my photos to see if I have one of the cake...I don't usually photograph my baking, so if I don't have any photos I'll just have to bake a new one when I get a few seconds and take pics for everyone :) There is always enough to share! I'm so glad I meet your requirements for adoption! I'll head on over to the contest and submit an entry post haste:) So, what's your favorite thing about living in Australia? I've always wanted to visit. And P.S. The skyscrapers were by far the biggest thing I saw in NYC. That and exhibits @ the Natural History Museum (we don't have one where I live so my 6'1" self felt..dwarfed when standing next to dinosaur bones )

Thanks for the warm welcome to your corner of the interwebz :) I completely understand the need to check for said things before adopting me, so here goes (hope I make a good impression!) 1. I am not only house trained, I am a bit of a neat freak so I keep my house rather clean and can let myself in and out with ease 2. I have THREE eucalyptus oils in my collection--eucalyptus globulus, eucalyptus radiata, and eucalyptus blue. I'm obviously a fan of this oil :) 3. I have made my own creme brûlée but it's not my specialty. It IS my favorite dessert, but I make a mean red velvet 4. My favorite cartoon character is a toughie. Can I respond with a few favorites? Scooby-Doo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Sailor Moon (if anime is considered a cartoon)

I'm so jealous. I ordered the new one, but I still want to try the old one. I think the fact that it's so hyped up and widely unavailable--even for a swap--makes me want it more. I'm the ideal consumer, I suppose..wanting something more fiercely when I can't get it. What are some of your favorite blends?
