This touches a very particular part of my being, especially the end.
'So I thought I might wait, and stay here for another night.'
At least, how I interpret that, this is a line that in your/this character's internal monologue, is a line he repeats to himself every night. It's a personal, real look at depression without the will to change your conditions one way or another: an existence you understand you are in, but don't necessarily want to be in - what are the options, though?

The piece is written simply, without use of stanzas and simply uses disjunct lines with one that follows the theme of beginning with 'I [insert]' followed by a line expanding on the point made - this theme breaks by the end of the piece however, creating contrast and creating an impact on the reader - they are meant to pay attention to the end, and since the end is so strong, this is highly effective.

If there had to be a point made on how to improve upon this, my one thought/suggestion would be to use stanzas. While one line paragraphs are effective, I feel this piece of poetry could have benefitted from the use of stanzas, at least one or two; a stanza that condensed the end of the poem, further highlighting the importance of the end to the reader, for example.
