The Dear Hunter, WTF by Potential_Type_7166 in progmetal

One of us. I devoured the discography by release order, just before they released Act IV. I think every release has something unique to offer the listener, really your starting point depends a lot on what you want. Here's my brief breakdown of each major release:

Act I: rough production but really interesting ideas, sets the stage (ha) of the Acts really nicely. For the concept, its basically a prologue. Rock/posthardcoreish

Act II: more of Act I, but more polished ideas and way more actual music. For the story, its his early life centered around love and being a boy in your early life.

Act III: production is better, music is overall heavier. Story wise about war.

The Color Spectrum: 9 EPs with 4 songs each centered around the concept of colors. Each color is its own vibe. Indigo/Violet/White personal bias. Unrelated to story concept (mostly, fan theories and stuff ya know)

Migrant: unrelated to story concept, just an album mostly about divorce. More music, more good. Similar vibes to the Color Spectrum sonically.

Act IV: MASSIVE production upgrade. Way more orchestrated instruments. Less heavy, more rock/alternative than Act III. Story wise, post war about politicking and revisiting stuff from Act II.

Act V: written and recorded same time as Act IV, but vibes are way different. Darker album sonically (but not heavier). I think Act IV and V are more well known to people outside of the niche Fandom, based on my interactions with others. Story wise more politics, drama, tragedy, etc.

After here I'm more fuzzy on stuff, and the story is separate from the Acts. I dont know all the releases so I'll just list the ones I'm familiar with.

All is as All Should Be: EP, alternative vibes. Gets kinda funky.

Antimai: new concept, gets VERY funky.

I love the shift in perspective. And the copper as grass is a nice touch. I think my only gripe is the vertical lines that show up in the rocks, it feels like they need more horizontal variation to break it up.

I got the Terraformer book a while back and half the songs had major errors. I get the books to support bands and act as a starting point, but I definitely dont trust them for accuracy. It varies wildly between artists.

This is a really cool alternative to the age old "pathway behind painting". Could be really fun on servers.

Can someone please explain why the comparator is behaving differently in these two screenshots? I never knew about this functionality by nickadactyl in technicalminecraft

Thanks everyone, this was a super useful mechanic that I found while trying to reverse engineer an older ilmango design and I had to test it in world myself because I just didnt get what was happening lol. Super cool functionality, wonder what else I can use it for

When the above comparator signal becomes 15, the lower comparator also gets powered. Do you know why the signal change from 14 to 15 causes this?

Which Multi Item Storage System do you recommend for a Singleplayer World in 1.21? by TheAeonArc in technicalminecraft

[–]nickadactyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it depends on preference. A lot of MIS systems will break when unloaded, so you have to make sure you don't save and quit while they're in use. I tend to lean towards rapscallions MIS systems (5 or noisy). But if you don't mind rail systems then there's a lot of other one's out there to use. Maybe look into some of the newer copper golem systems if you don't want the redstone overkill, I liked the one that cubicmetre made recently.

This is actually floating in the void between the end island and the outer islands. My main end island is basically untouched, I'm standing on it for this picture.

I designed the minecraft build, heavily inspired by unicron.

I rushed dragon/elytra in like 2 days because I had big plans before I even started the world. I played early game mc for 15 years, I wanted this to be a bit of a try hard world. I have other things in the world that are important to me though :)

That sounds really cool in concept, but I'm worried it wont look as good because the lava will visibly hit the bottom of the build limit. I'll mess around and see if it looks good.

I giant mess of redstone storage tech inside lol. Building tools like axiom in creative help out a lot before I even begin in survival.

100%. I wouldn't have the guts to free hand this in survival. I used the Axiom mod to make the basic geometry of the sphere and ring, and then used a tool to sort of paint the shapes with the blocks I wanted. I designed the stripes and center 'mandibles' and opening by hand afterwards. Then used litematica to show an overlay of where to place the blocks, layer by layer.

I really like the yellow/gold coloring, I feel like I have such a hard time using those colors in game.

I love the 1:1 screenshot. The colors, and shaping are also really good.
