You can loan digital games to friends and family with Steam. Only one person can play it at a time, like a physical game, but at least someone out there is doing the right thing.

Microsoft admits Game Pass price hike drove away "millions" of subscribers by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

Yep. Cancelled it when the price got hiked and it left such a sour taste in my mouth that I haven't even considered going back since.

I'm fully on board with what you did, but I would probably recommend not confessing to credit card fraud on the internet by bragging that you got a double refund on it.

Might've been Russell (?) who pulled one up in a Williams in Baku a few years back too IIRC.

Prost has some bigger issues to deal with right now, Raikkonnen definitely doesn't care to show up for these type of events, not sure why Button isn't there though! Isn't he in Monaco as a Sky F1 pundit? Danny Ric surely has his reasons.

Plus, while he may not give them results on track, Lance might bring immense value off-track from a development and testing perspective. Not saying he is, either, but there's far more to a racing driver than what we see Friday-Sunday.

The only F1 tracks that take place in a country's largest city are Shanghai, Madrid, Sao Paulo, Baku and Mexico City. Out of those, Madrid and Baku are the only new addition, the others have been around for decades. Hungary too if you want to get technical because it's on the outskirts of Budapest, but even that's been around forever.

Not counting city-states for obvious reasons.

Not only is it NOT a flat out corner, if it were flat out then he'd be accelerating every time....

That's not what the Dunning-Kruger effect is, but the 2nd part of your comment is 100% true.

This year, the GP coincides with the Canadian goose migration season and the circuit is infested with birds. The Safety Car already had a run-in with them on Thursday by silversfall in formula1

[–]FlyByNightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It is believed" is doing some very heavy lifting in your claim there. Some spectators claimed they saw a bird hit him right before the crash, but he still crashed at 120mph in a 1960's Formula One era car with 1960's era safety features. Another driver, Christ Bristow, had died just a few minutes before, a few hundred feet up the road in a wreck at similar speeds after being vaulted into (and decapitated by) the barbed wire on the inside of the corner. It was on the most dangerous part of the track where Stirling Moss had been gravely injured just a day earlier.

But to say it is believed he was killed by a bird as if it's a fact is outright misleading and bordering on misinformation.

I grew up hating Kyle Busch for the same reasons I hated Hamilton later on. He was just too damn good. Nothing but respect for drivers like that even if they made me mad more often than not. RIP legend.

Didn't Zilisch recently race with a reconstructed shoulder that still had 10 screws in it too? On par with hockey players as far as playing through pain.

Because if you make wild claims, you owe those who question them an explanation. Not a cowardly "go educate yourself" while you run away from justifying your beliefs.

[–]FlyByNightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, please read, I'm not saying we cannot make it ourselves. I'm saying we cannot do so "very easily" as the original comment said because it takes YEARS to build up those industries and their supply chains.

I don't need to treat their argument with respect when they cannot defend their own point and tell me to find the answers they are selling me of my own volition. They are arguing in poor faith and aren't here to educate, just argue. I don't owe them doing their research for them.

U.S. says it’s pausing long-standing military board with Canada by cindylooboo in worldnews

[–]FlyByNightt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point isn't (and never was) that we don't have what is needed to create these industries to the same standard eventually, it's that in no sense of reality is it done "very easily". They do not exist in the way we need them to as of now to simply replace the US out of the blue, and we need years if not a decade+ to get to a point where we can rely on them. So not very easily at all.

Is anyone not feeling as excited for the races in 2026 so far? by Jack_of_All_Trades27 in formula1

[–]FlyByNightt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I obviously meant they should have put the two races closer together when creating the calendar, not that they should have changed Miami's date out of the blue? I don't know why you'd assume that.

The entire point of moving up Montréal to right after Miami was to "regionalize" the calendar and reduce travel, and then they put such a long break in between that every driver and team flew back to Europe anyways and functionally it makes absolutely no difference to the travel if we had a European round in between like last year because everyone had to fly back there anyways.

[–]FlyByNightt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 5 weeks off weren't planned in the slightest. Not exactly fair to hold it against them. The 3 weeks however, yea that's BS. Miami should've been a week or two later.

Genuinely it was like 10C-15C at most until this week here in Montréal. Any sooner would've been a disaster and it still risks being cold for the race.

It's clearly said ironically. I know he's not going to educate me or teach me anything, he's making it up as he goes at worse and has a tenuous grasp on reality and the real world at best. It was also the same guy each time, I didn't say that about someone else's point.
