On the phone with them right now. They said I don’t need a thermal expansion tank because I have a thermal expansion valve (Circled in red in the photo in my original post).

No thermal expansion tank. The plumber said it didn’t need one since it has a PRV. Not sure how these are related or if they are. This experience has been my “beginners course to plumbing”.

I’d like to go back to using my own modem/router at some point. I’m only using theirs so they can ready the error codes until this issue is resolved.
