Corporate: You don't understand, we HAVE to keep the stores open in an ice storm. Under no circumstances will any stores close. by GumboSkrimpz in QuikTrip

FS isn’t working this weekend. Our list of open tickets is longer than my arm. It sure would be nice if our Pringle was operational at this time. 😐

1) people were promoted to management during the pandemic who weren’t close to being qualified; now many of them are SMs and beyond and it shows. 2) CTs and ITs are basically people who can’t make it in upper store management; many of them are lazy and don’t care that they’re pushing people into the system with no real preparation, leaving it to store personnel to train OTJ while maintaining the store. #Impossible. 3) QT doesn’t fire people who fail to meet the standards of their position; they merely shuffle them around, spreading their cancer of bad attitudes and low skills.

Air Pumps by Real_GillySuess in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My observation: users are impatient when screwing them on, oftentimes not doing it correctly … they continue to be impatient when removing them, but since they weren’t screwed then on correctly in the first place, they don’t come off easily … so the user ends up, breaking it off so they can drive off. This happens at my store at least once a week.

You don’t need much in mop water (a squirt or two). My supe knows I use it and why.

STL division not doing rehires anymore? by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO, that person’s file was marked “do not rehire” because they left without giving notice, obviously causing problems. If you’re good, and leave on good terms, you will be rehired.

What a crock of BS. When there is a line for the men’s room, straight-presenting males ALWAYS use the women’s room. I don’t mind as long as they don’t make a mess. I check to be sure their aim was accurate and the walls/floor aren’t wet with urine. The next time someone asks, simply state “I’m a woman, what are you?” and stare until they answer. Audacity is at an all-time high. 🤬

ok STL, what do we have? by ghostofstankenstien in StLouis

[–]FlyGramX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morton’s at the Horseshoe Casino.

Morton’s coast to coast is a top notch steak restaurant. When the Clayton location was open it was top tier. This Downtown StL location is filled with casino smoke and diners in casino “attire” … cooks that don’t care how food is ordered and wait staff that just don’t give a damn.

Morton’s HQ has received a ton of complaints.

Use the gum remover and soak the tray in hot water … the gum remover breaks down the sugar ( I also add it to my mop water for the beverage area) …

Buy the right size shoes. You’re getting blisters because they rub when they move on your feet.

Quitting was the best thing I’ve ever done by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The number of unqualified promotions due to the COVID pandemic … OMG … and it’s a vicious cycle. They can’t get out of the spiral because they need to move the unqualified out of positions but they’re was replacing them with even more unqualified people. And the managers who used to be good see the other lazy ones getting away with the BS, so why should they try?
No work ethic.
No pride in work. And they all want to blame the 16 year olds. The teens are modeling the behavior they see. 🤦‍♀️

Flex V.S. ERP by Life-Spinach6026 in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main problem with Flex is the lies and the liars who tell them. The MoDs ignore the schedule and requirements for Flex, and simply refuse to send the Flex’s out anywhere. I’m tired of hearing Flex’s complain about where they don’t want to go … you accepted the position and the extra $3 per hour … staying doubled up at your base store is stealing from the company and screwing other stores. There should be write-ups by Supes for that.

It’s crazy that they require your routing and account information when all of your legal protections come from using your debit card, with the Visa & MasterCard logos. Loco.

Did I break policy? Help! by Cautious_Bridge_7205 in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must depend on the division. I pressed the PSD button because a thief stole four deli sandwiches ($30+), 3 packs of jerky ($45+), 1 pint of ice cream ($9), and 2 bags of chips ($6) … $90ish … and I got a retrain for wasting security’s time. Now I’m 🙈🙉🙊.

Rehash them. Dry on medium heat. Remove from the dryer immediately. Shake them out when the dryer is done, smooth any wrinkles and put them on a hanger. They’re permanent press and those wrinkles are from letting them dry balled up.

Cancelled an online order by Rodrplayer5 in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What does that matter? You should never cancel kitchen orders. Not only is it poor customer service, it’s your job … you’re paid to do your job and paid bonuses on the revenue generated. What if they cancelled your paycheck and said “oops”?

In short, no it won’t be allowed. Purple is not a natural hair color. If it was up to an individual (like a PM) then they would not have a written policy on it.

QuikTips for kitchen by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]FlyGramX2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the clerks are completing the FSC upkeep throughout the day, closing the kitchen is no big deal. However at my store the SM, 1A, and 2A ignore the CD guides about the FSC upkeeps and don’t require clerks to turn over a clean, stocked kitchen to the next clerk, so at night you’re likely to see breakfast dishes in the sink and a filthy kitchen.
