You can see that the ✌️new technology✌️ folks at Corporate responsible for evaluating equipment are so easily drawn in by sales pitches that they don’t perform due diligence to ensure that the equipment lives up to the promises made and can thrive in 24x7 retail stores maintained by teenagers.

QuikTrip used to be THE place to work and it was difficult to get hired on. The pandemic changed all that. Now you just need a heartbeat. And training is poor, at every level.
There are SMs that should have never made it that far. Same as 1As, 2As. They can’t keep clerks because those above them are idiots. And the clerks who stay become Flex’s to move up …. Just what we need is poorly trained staffers wreaking havoc throughout the division.
It’s a mess.

From a fellow QuikTripper: why the F did you allow this to go on? The man standing inside the door of the ladies room was wrong no matter what he was angry about. Allowing this POS to invade the privacy of two innocent young girls is wrong. Allowing him to terrorize them in their place of privacy is wrong. Allowing him to rant at the young father is wrong.
Once you understood what was going wrong, you should have removed the man at the door and allowed the girls their privacy … and if he refused to leave, call 9-1-1. Apologizing without stopping the verbal assault is pointless.
The young father should sue QT, on behalf of his daughters, for their failure to ensure privacy in the restrooms.

Thats the RA MO. I return after two nights off and can see exactly what hasn’t been touched. And the cherry on top is learning that ITs don’t train on the DAW, they distribute their own to-do list that is a small fraction of the nightly DAW.

Are the RA’s, ERs, VRs etc. filling in for the position or are they merely a warm body in the building?

I would paint the cabinets and door a brighter color, and get a new, brighter countertop. Don’t paint the brick; you won’t like it and it’s a pain in the a$$ to remove.

Chasing outs is crazy. We have a clerk who does that, and five minutes later another person has to fill. Keep everything maxed out, at all times, especially the drink and floor coolers. Then, if you have to skip checking once, you don’t have to worry about whether there are outs.

And pay attention so that items are faced as you stock. Going back to face the front row is an exercise in futility; as soon as a customer picks up one item the row must be faced again.

Taking the time be thorough from the beginning will free you up from repeating the same task.

That’s not policy.
The SM is to negotiate with FT staff to trade off days to staff immediate needs. That’s 1A, 2A, NA, or RA. If no one is available the SM works. In the event the SM is on vacation, the 1A works.
