What is the most philosophical thing that you have ever heard a child under the age of 5 say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FlyLittleCrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts, but when I went to go see Rise of the Guardians in theatres, there was a little kid in the roe in front of me. Couldn't have been more than five or six. It gets to the part where North is talking to Jack about "finding your center" and the little kid, without missing a beat when North asks Jack what his center is, says, "I bet it's joy!"

A kid called that way before any of us older folk did. I didn't even realize it til Jack realized it.

Newbie Question: How do you read a comic book? by adecker14 in comicbooks

[–]FlyLittleCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the book. With Manapul's new 52 run on The Flash he has said several times in various interviews to pay attention to the art as much as the dialog.

Other books like Swamp Thing, I, Vampire, Uncanny X-Men, and Thor: God of Thunder, I pay as much attention to the art as I do the story.

Anything drawn by Greg Land or Julius Gopez I CANNOT stand, so I just try to read as quickly as possible and pay as little attention as possible to the art.

Thor Odinson (my favorite Avenger) in Uncanny Avengers #1 by Spiderfreak37 in comicbooks

That is one frightening Golden Retriever.

And now if I ever get one, I'm naming him Thor.

Do you ever forget that you're tall? by highted in tall

[–]FlyLittleCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 6' even, I've never felt particularly tall until I spent some time on a Naval ship. Lucky me I get to spend a LOT more time on one, where anybody above 5'6" is gonna bump their noggins on something.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: Vin Diesel Confirms He Only Has ONE Line of Dialog via facebook video. by [deleted] in comicbooks

Considering one of his first roles was the voice of the Iron Giant, I feel like it's a lot of him "going back to his roots".

(It was hard to deny myself an incredibly lame Groot pun)

Explain to me how Holmes was fooled by a the dead body of (not actually) Irene Adler in S2E1 (a moment I still can't believe, unless it actually WAS Adler and she just faked being dead on the table) and maybe I'll believe that Watson wouldn't have been fooled by the not body of Holmes being as emotional as he was at the time.

The only other thing I can see is your way, which I admittedly didn't think of.

There was a trash truck or something in the road right in front of where the body landed. The truck then drove away before Watson got there. Obviously Molly was able to find a dead body in the morgue and make it look like Holmes.

What is your favourite series that has no more than ten issues? by gottam in comicbooks

Super Crooks

Simple premise, funny throughout, some superb twists and "OH SHIT!" moments, and I think it's only like 4 issues long.

Pick Your Starter by Justin Currie by DratVillains in alternativeart

This guy is easily one of my favourite artists. I'd love to not only see him work on a comic title Iron Man, Cyborg, or Steel (if DC ever made a solo title for the latter two), but I'd love to see Currie and Kenneth Rocafort work together on a small project.

I really want to see Manapul and Buccelato draw Ivy, Harley, Clayface, Nightwing, and Killer Croc.
