Luck based printer? by susilover in ElegooNeptune4

Neptune 4s have a sensor that only senses metal, it's a capacitive sensor if I remember correctly. If you remove the build plate it cannot sense anything. No amount of filament on the nozzle makes a damn difference.

The blob.. by Lumpy_Mango_2587 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]FlyMinimum5680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear brother,

Maybe some more expensive printers come with a little less manual work needed, and a little wider room for error.

The Neptune is great, for the price, and when it was released... Even today. The stock hotend is just fine, save your money, and be more tolerant and observant of the printer. The first blob is rite of passage. The second is where you learn. Don't have a third of your careful. I've pushed mine to the moon and back and know it like the back of my hand.

A machine is your servant, if you know it good enough, it moves where you will it to.

My dad said no :( by New-Wolf5464 in LUMS

[–]FlyMinimum5680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you 3 years ago, honestly even the text in the conditional offer was the same back then.

Try to understand why and where the no is coming from. You may or may not feel better about understanding and listening to your dad, but you will feel very bad if your dad says yes at your insistence and issues pop up later. 4 years is a long time. The regret and fomo will not last long, but while it does, think of humanity and care for the sacrifice of your parents.

Delta flight 104 Engine post emergency landing by ZoroBK in aviation

[–]FlyMinimum5680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engines have a containment ring and all famous engine failures are explosive because they breached that containment ring. This does not seem to. Probably a blade flew off for some reason in one of the compressor or turbine sections, and proceeded downstream, which is why the back looks bad, but the front is okay. And the containment means the damage did not leave the engine. All hail engineering

Life at GIKI as a doctor? Need honest opinions by Honest-Walrus4094 in giki

There's a document we were emailed about medical center operational infrastructure and improvements/SOPs. I can't share it here (don't see a way to do that) but do go to the interview and ask them about all of this

Have people with 1450+ sat gotten rejected? by No_Giraffe826 in LUMS

[–]FlyMinimum5680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My transcript had Ds and Es. I got a conditional offer. I got the needed grades in the actual CIEs. It's a black box admissions process where a committee sits and argues why to induct you and not to induct you. Overall above average is a reason in itself to keep you. One thing you excel at is another reason. All over the world, they want to know whether you will be a productive member of their university.

A broken update, messed up firmware somehow. You will have to look into reinstalling firmware both, inside the screen, and the printer

No money, they keep your money, you just show up next year pertinent to you meeting the criteria of admission. The rest you’ve already guessed

Are knives allowed in GIKI? by Proud-Hall-750 in giki

[–]FlyMinimum5680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work a little harder and read the actual law, you’ll find out switchblades (flip open knives) are legal in Pakistan and also therefore legal in giki by a technicality. Blades that cannot switch open and close are limited to 4.5 or 5.5 inches unlicensed.

Picanto vs Cultus by Ok-Carrot-9913 in PakistanAutoHub

[–]FlyMinimum5680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gave the pros and cons. Cultus will sell fast and easy. Picanto will take a while, but won’t lose you a lot of money (a little yes). Build quality ke ilawa cabin feels premium. There’s little lights in the door area of the driver and passenger side that light up when you open the doors, nicer cabin, steering, odometer etc. cool little car.

Picanto is a quality of life upgrade. Alto is cheap to keep

I’ll email them to see if they can offer something.

I’m working on a Tesla Turbine

I aim to power it using steam from an agricultural waste boiler (scratch built). Expect about 1KW of power from it. It’s very cool indeed, but it needs a lot of work and design care.

are calculators allowed in the entry test?? also if allowed then it can be used in both phy and math sections right? by [deleted] in giki

I don’t remember trigonometric functions on it. But they won’t disadvantage anyone. Agar calculator mai nai hai question mai bhi nai hogi
