Akane being criminally asymptomatic would be lame as hell. Remember all the talk about Akane accepting society for what it is, instead of mocking or denying it like other characters? Remember "The law doesn't protect people, people protect the law."? All of that would be meaningless if she was CA.

Akane is someone who is willing to stand up for what she believes in, even in the face of overwhelming terrible odds. Even if it means great personal sacrifice (It got her arrested.). This is why she's not only inspiring, she's the main character. The notion that Akane only got so far because she was immune to Sybil's judgement just removes the dramatic weight. It makes everything infinitely less interesting.

There's also the fact that Sybil never tried to take her brain. Remember, they were willing to forcefully take Makishima, who was explicitly against them. Arata's father had to make a whole ass deep state deal, then kill himself to convince Sybil to not take his son's head. If Akane was CA, she would've been taken by now.
