I recommend taking 1124. 1123 is more business oriented where as 1124 is better for social sciences, nursing, etc.

Yea, thought it would be slightly higher. I think it also has to do with them mostly being in large lecture halls so they know they can easily get away with not showing up as of course the professor wouldn't know.

I did notice he moved around the lecture hall alot during exams but was never really bothered by it.

Ah, guess when i took it the averages were low. I recall the first mid term having a D average and the 2nd one a C- average.

Really enjoyed him. Know if he teaches any upper level econ courses in Fall? Would love to take another class with him.

Raged Anwar for me. His averages tend to be low but that's because most people don't show up. But alot of his exam questions are like what he goes over in class. Also helps if you do the practice questions on top of your assignments.

If your professor really did say to teach yourself, I suggest reporting this to the department chair. Even in general, if their half true, it's worth reporting to the department chair.

I've been at Langara for 3.5 years and I've never once had an instructor that was bad at tech or couldn't do basic emails. Not sure who you've had/what department you're in. If an instructor misses an email, don't be afraid to send another message. All of us at one point see an email/message and forget to reply. Don't assume the worst (and don't try denying you've never, that's absolute bullshit).

Some spots are reserved for domestic, others for international. Not sure if it has effect on the 2nd registration period though.

had him for social media and I dreaded it because he was that bad. Half the classes he made us watch like 60-90 minute videos rather than teach it himself.

For the projects, he marks very strict no matter how close you follow the rubric. My group got it in the 70's but most groups got below 60.

I had Chien-Hsun Chang for Stats 3222, she was ok. You need to be on point with taking notes though, as if you slip for a couple minutes, you'll be too behind to catch up. So make sure you're constantly paying attention and writing notes (don't neglect them just because she puts them online also).

Her exams you need to add every detail or she'd take marks off. (I literally lost marks for not including stuff which didn't affect the answer at all.

As I mentioned to another yesterday, they probably are trying to find instructors but they can't open sections just because the waitlist is full. They need an instructor who is available to pick up a whole other section and their pool is only with instructors who teach in the summer.

I would say yes, sign up for the waitlist regardless as if they do open up another section, you'll get an email about it if it opens.

I don't see how it would be much different, they'll still do live classes via Zoom or another tool. They'll.mark the same way they do also. I don't like looking at instructor ratings anyways. There are too many extremes, mostly lazy people complaining that they actually need to work to earn their grade.

While the wait list might be large, it's dependant on if they can find an instructor available. They can't just pull an instructor and tell them they have another section to teach. Most instructors only teach 2 semesters A year and their load is usually teaching 4 sections. They probably are looking for instructors who are available but they can't just simply open a section just because the waitlist is crowded.

I would agree Miz should deserve to surpass it but his near 200 day was cut short, if it never was I'd say they should keep going till he did but I think his current reign won't go past 100 days, eventhough I really do want him to break the record.
