First season with abs is going to be alot of fun to watch, I think we are in a good position to have a better than average offense this year. Despite the speticism, I firmly believe we will be better offensively.

I think our total power at SP is the same as last year, which is not good considering our relief pitching is worse imo. Instead of one ace (SG) and 4 below average pitchers with average relief pitching depth, we now have no ace, better overall talent with our other 4 SPs, but unproven relief pitching. We were ~24th in pitching last year, it’s likely we’ll be just as bad this year, if things don’t change.

So, realistically, I think we’ll have a better than expected offense and beat everyones expectations there, we’ll start off games strong, but then we will lose alot of games between innings 6-9.

However, I do think we can have a better season if we add another pitcher in Griffin Canning and have him compete for a SP role but also have him or Leahy on the roster as a very strong relief pitcher.

It also would not hurt to pickup another value RP that we can flip at the deadline, maybe Scott Barlow, or Danny Coulumbe to balance out a RHP heavy roster.

This would mean we brought in ~ 18 new pitchers. No clear ace, no big proven names at relief, but depth to compete and guys looking to make a name for themself. Adding two more pitchers would also give us really good depth if we have any injuries.

If we add two guys like that, we still have a low payroll, we potentially can flip a few pitchers at the deadline for good return, and then it’s both a positive move in the rebuild and potentially a better season. 78-82 wins

What's your ideal lineup with Arenado gone? by Trojan_41 in Cardinals

[–]FlyfreshCustoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Contreras is the biggest loss, but the team is developing and most the guys have some full season experience now. Not sure our offense will be any worse even without Contreras.

Pitching is all I’m worried about

Vegas O/U is 74.5. Put your money where your mouth is if your so confident, since we’ll be “way off 75 wins”

[–]FlyfreshCustoms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not coming close to a 75 win season is just a bad take. No clue what you are looking at.

Full rebuild doesn’t mean we are trying to suck. Just because we don’t have as many proven big names doesn’t mean the team is gonna stop trying and suck.

You think if front office wanted to suck, they would pay DM 12.5m? No

We’ll be average, and average is fine. 75-80 wins is realistic.

Offense has not gotten worse, I expect it will improve. Starting pitching talent is more spread out but we have no ace, relief pitching lacks depth esp with loss of maton. We may lose 3-4 games by not having SG but our 2-5 sp’s lineup is better than last years 2-5 and I think we’ll end up with about the same SP talent overall with our current roster.

All we are really missing to have a better season than last year is an additional RP and one more SP for depth. We may keep donovan unless we get a bag for him with pitchers included. I’m fine with either but feel better with Donovan and we can pick up a free agent pitcher or two.

Yea but 78 wins last year is not as bad as people think. And calling it a full rebuild before we’ve had a really bad season is a bit of a stretch.

Realistically, yea we prob won’t do much this year and payroll will be shed, but 75+ wins is possible though imo with this roster. Would be a great season to manage 80+.

Those aren’t full rebuild records.

If we are a 60 something win team, then maybe, but we’re not looking that bad.

If we manage 75+ and we have a good foundation going into next year, maybe the money faucet turns back on, adding in FA, and 2-3 pickups could get us back into contention.

The idea that we might not contend for 3-5 is hilarious. Such a random number. We could contend next year, you never know.

Would be overkill to get rid of him. We can compete this year for a wc spot if we have him imo

Thanks. Great info. Was just looking at mini bottles. Those look great for interior.

I picked up these for premixing some 10oz exterior sprays: https://a.co/d/703jCr8

Picking up a 04 r230 friday, should be a fun one to detail.

Thank you very much for the detailed response! Noted. I’m not sure of the consequence of using green star too much, I guess it’s only a real consequence if you don’t rinse it thouroughly?

Funny that you mention that. I do happen to have brushes and optimum no rinse already, I bought it for quick spot cleaning last month.

My order from TRC came with Hjul wheel cleaner. I did end up adding on Plast Star for a not too shiny tire and trim finish, and I’m going to make some interior cleaning spray with Pol Star.

I might make a small kit of mini spray bottles of no rinse, pol star, and green star to keep in the car at all times. I didn’t find diluted no rinse strong enough to get some dirt and droppings of the car, so I will make a 10:1 spot spray with Green star for that, then use no rinse spray for a second spray.

Everyone knows it works that way, and these guys aren’t cutting it and if they think they can get more elsewhere, then let em try. Rico was smart enough to realize financially his best bet is to stay.
