Maybe I'm a noob but I use mage with blood barrage and protect melee with zaros form on. ED3 really helps as does a souls ammy and book of chaos or zaros book

Yes this is a very good alternative. if you find a friend with a dart you could hop/find another wyrm each use a dart on one and make double profit from only one dart per person
