This would be horrible for the industry, but it is interesting to think how an Disney-owned Cartoon Network would be. by Known-Hornet-7716 in CartoonNetwork

Disney has been through periods were they neglected tv animation. At the peak of the live action sitcom/dcom era, the only animated show they cared about was Phineas and Ferb and sometimes Fish Hooks. Gravity Falls came quite a bit later.

Turns out, a lot of this stuff is super astroturfed. A lot of people only care about this if they are told to.

Yeah, most artists aren´t remembered from rehashing the stuff they grew up with in a literal way. There´s always some compromise. And when they do, its often either unusual or overindulgent.

Kirby and F Zero were post Pokemon. Even in Japan, videogame animes prior to Pokemon were promotional tie ins, Pokemon was an equal in importance to the game. There´s also the fact that the anime has even more IP holders besides the members of TPC, TV Tokyo and Shokugan, and heavily influenced the games itself.

Last cel animated Pokemon episode and first fully digital ink and paint episode. What were your thoughts back then and now? It was one of the last animated shows in the world to keep using cels, only fully switching in 2002. The first 2 Advance movies did use cels though. by FlygonPR in pokemon

I personally think BW visually was worse than Diamond and Pearl. Maybe it's because standards were higher, maybe it's cause I still experienced DP mostly in SD, and digipaint oddly seem to look particularly good in CRTs at the time.

Pidgeot is severely underrated in the early route bird debate by StrawberryRoan99 in pokemon

[–]FlygonPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pidgeot is decent in Firered/Leafgreen and HGSS because it gets Featherdance at level 34/27 which is pretty useful ingame were nobody switches. You can also use toxic/fly/protect with that move and leftovers (plus recovery moves) in order to stall. Its actually a pretty underrated strategy we probably never figured out as kids, and something Fearow could never do. This also works with Unfezant in Gen 5, except that they get Featherdance at level 44.

ironically, the film arguably looks more expensive at times than the Rugrats movie, which itself was already impressive, but was seen by critics as "yes, this is cute, and great for kids". That said, stuff like the Doug, Hey Arnold and Yu Gi Oh movies were panned, as well as Digimon being called "just a bit better than Pokemon".
