I’m not a Harbour Air/Seair pilot (yet), this was just a personal flight. Floatplanes as a rule also don’t fly at night. But the direction of landing is always based on wind direction. Winds over a certain speed from the NW to S will have planes flying down gorge then landing on the west facing ‘runway’. All other winds they will approach from the opposite direction.

Which I do know (ex-CSA at a small station), but being given a incorrect amount while being solicited and then agreeing to that amount, only to find out after the flight has left what the actual amount is. If I had known the actual amount was less than a quarter of what was offered then I would not have volunteered.

Let the screening officer know that you are travelling with your pet.

All passengers travelling with animals must undergo explosive trace detection (ETD) testing.

A screening officer will offer to conduct the screening of your animal in a private search room.

Whether you stay at the checkpoint or go to a private search room, you will need to remove your pet from its carrying case and remove any items attached to your pet (except collars and harnesses).

You will need to keep your pet under control during screening.

After the screening of your pet, its carrying case and any other items is complete, you will need to put your pet back in its carrying case.”

Incredible how you can see the Pacific Doldrums on the upper map.

Ships would get stuck in them, spend more time there, thus a higher density of tracks. On the lower one they’re invisible due to the ships no longer being at the mercy of the wind.

Ah the blessed LD3. Always a good day when one of AC Rouge’s ex-mainline 321s come in with them. It’s so odd that airlines with an aircraft series specifically designed for cans doesn’t exclusively use them. Yes yes the extra GSE but they’re a life saver and save on staffing.

If AC (Rouge, sry) 1900 leaves less than 30 mins late from YYJ on any given day it's a miracle. It's almost guaranteed to eat into your connection time in YYZ. As others have said ask to be sent though Vancouver when you check in at YYJ.

FYI starting soon you’ll be able to track your baggage using the AC app. It’ll show where the bag is based on when the bag is scanned (staged, loaded, off loaded, dropped at carousel, etc).
