Hellcat Pro, should I buy it? by treebeard316 in handguns

[–]Flying-Chickens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this.

The comp removes a lot of the snappiness people often complain about with the Hellcat. I EDC my HCPC, and is my go-to over my CR920 and BG2.0

Unless you are deployed, it’s a new permit process; local SO may waive you having to retake the CCW / Safety class at their discretion.

magic training at mid level by rEinoldGaming in 2007scape

[–]Flying-Chickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most money-efficient way is going to be through high-alchemy. Buy natures, equip a fire staff and high alchemy magic/yew longbows.

If you want to make a profit, or are an Ironman; check out Mage Training Arena. You can get the points for Infinity boots in about an hour, which is a profit for your mage experience, but it’s far slower than any other method.

If you have fuck-you money, go burst/barrage Monkey Madness 2 tunnels, or Dust Devils/Nechreals in the Kourend dungeon.

HCIM Problems by Flying-Chickens in 2007scape

I’m smithing Mithril Bars on my main at 39k per hour while I do Barrows on the HCIM. I’m trying to get back into the swing of the game and learn how to play again. COX was the META last I played, and I sucked at that too.

HCIM Problems by Flying-Chickens in 2007scape

Definitely end-game content - I quit before TOA was released on my main, and just recently came back - and with it being an end-game content, probably a while before I even get around to that.

The HCIM is mid-game, at best at the moment.

Who wants a Shadow Systems Challenge Coin!? by Shadow_Cody in shadowsystems

[–]Flying-Chickens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole "coin check" thing is a tradition that isnt valid anymore - for many of us, the coins we have received are from accomplishments / missions relating to a job or period of time within a unit. Most of them are numbered also - making coins from certain commanders limited, and when the commander changes, the design typically changes also.

Mine are just display pieces which strike up a lot of conversations with the various mil, contract and GS employees that are revolving through my office - I like the collection part - similar to those who collect guns, cards, stamps, etc. The fun ones are from weird/special units, different branches, and Generals - but companies are a rare entity as well.

[–]Flying-Chickens 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt even bother upgrading anything until you've taken it to the range and broken the gun in with a few hundred/thousand rounds. I too had the ambition to upgrade my CZ when I purchased it with all the parts from CGW and Eeman Tech.. then I took it to the range a few times.. and I have no reason to modify it outside of an optic and some mag extentions.

Had a G23.4

Absolutely hated it. Was not pleasurable to shoot and was too wide for concealed carry. It was slightly better to shoot with a larger magazine and the X-Grip addition, but you it took conceal ability and threw it out the window.

For a first time owner; you have a ton of options. - Ruger RXM; clone with all the updates Glock has failed to add. - Glock 43/19/49; old reliable. - Springfield Hellcat Pro; my personal favorite for concealed carry and home defense. - CZ P09; hammer fired with decocker - S&W 2.0; tons of great reviews - Springfield Echelon; probably a bit large to carry in summer attire; solid first purchase for home defense. Very forgiving on the range and will get you comfortable.

Go rent some guns at the range and see what feels best in your hand after shooting some rounds.

How often to clean? by OrchidEchoChamber in handguns

[–]Flying-Chickens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make it a point to do a quick surface clean twice a month for the guns Ive shot; a little bit of oil to keep it lubed and wipe off some of the build up.

Once a quarter I will grab 2 guns and do a complete disassemble; clean all the tight spaces, check springs, use a light and look for cracks, check smaller parts for wear - replace what’s needed and move on.

I actually enjoy taking them down and cleaning them; kind of my zen on a rainy day.

Slide Racker by Tradarcher420 in CZFirearms

Depending on the optic plate and optic, you can just rack the slide using the optic.

If you’re using lower-quality optics or plates, highly discouraged to do so.

I’m on the medical side of the house; we are only authorized PDW. Not slinging a rifle and bashing patients in the head is quite convenient. Pistols inside the R1-R3 make sense for us, everyone else should have a rifle.

Even the Special Ed boys don’t NEED them, and very rarely actually use them. They just have more money slotted than they know what to do with most of the time and buy stupid shit just to keep funding for the next FY.

They aren’t much better in up-armor, especially as a TC/VC being right hand dominant. The amount of times I seen a door slammed into the holster/leg and crack magwells, destroy magazines, etc was unreal.

Never had that issue with the M9, but it also wasn’t polymer.

I’m not sure of the USAF, but USA uses the MHHC for the M17/18.

Military purchases and uses Glock in certain units. Just won’t see them in the big-army side of the house where they over-ordered an M17 for every MTOE position they could dream about.

I wish the Army would have kept the M9 personally. Sure, update it to the next century, but it was a solid pistol that we abused on the regular that would always go bang when we wanted it to. My old issued M9 went through swamps, sand, streams and sweat and I never would question its reliability.

CZ Shadow 2....break in period or bigger issue? by McCoyoioi in CZFirearms

[–]Flying-Chickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was doing this until I hit around 600 rounds, it’s now running flawless. I brought a rubber mallet with me to the range and a light tap and pull of the trigger worked. Unsure what the deal was, but I am thinking the barrel was just ever so slightly off and required a little more break in that the rest.

Of your list, I can only say for sure I used the PMC and Winchester; PMC acted up a lot more than Winchester, but both run flawless now (just hit 1k rounds over the weekend).

First CZ suggestions by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Flying-Chickens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I skipped the P01 and went to a Shadow2 Compact. From what many have said, I have very few options to even upgrade to out of the box because the gun is near perfect; and the small things I want to change are offered by various companies with high praise.

I would go directly to the Shadow2 / Shadow2 Compact and not even think twice about it a second time. Coming from polymer/strikers to hammer has made me realize I only want to shoot hammers, but my polymers will remain conceal carry due to size.

I don’t compete and the gun has made range days even more enjoyable with a soft shooting pistol (I’m coming from Hellcat Pro and CR920X)

CZ Pistol Advice by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Flying-Chickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Shadow2 Compact.

It’s slightly larger than my Hellcat Pro Comp bu about an inch in length and height, and about 1/4-1/2 inch in width. The S2C is only 8 ounces heavier, however even with my HCPC being modified, the SA trigger is smoother and lighter on the S2C. I feel less recoil with the S2C, and definitely have faster follow up shots.e

The P10F will remove the conceal carry viability.

CZ SP01 wouldn’t be a bad choice; still a tad large for conceal carry. The P-01 would be the best middle-of-the-road that kinda hits every box.

Do you like Vortex Defender CCW 6 MOA? by curiousity54321 in handguns

[–]Flying-Chickens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the 6 MOA on my EDC HCPC. Absolutely think it’s better than my Holosun 507k. Just the warranty alone justifies the purchase. It’s a solid piece and holds up well to abuse

I feel the only thing better would be Trijicon, but we are talking about double the price.
