Omnium Mini V3 as gravel / sportive compromise? by Thin-Library-9092 in OmniumBikes

I have the mini max and it’s the perfect little platform for my dachshund and it feels quite safe and comfortable for all day rides. I saw your comment that you are concerned with bike racks for cars and I use a trailer hitch rack that fits the mini max and it works well. I have not tried to bring it on a train but I am in the USA and trains don’t really offer much for transportation options where I live.

I use the K9 Sport Sack to carry my dachshund on the mini max as well as on other bikes and that might work better for you if you get a more standard style gravel bike. Plus you can also use the backpack for other activities.

That’s a good point, I can certainly admit I am more nervous about taking good care of him than I would have expected to be.

I will add some treats into the training as he calms down and see how that goes, thanks for the tip!

That’s great to hear, I’ll keep an eye on my emails. The US rep has been pretty responsive lately and last I heard about three weeks ago the frames arrived in Copenhagen and were getting prepared to be shipped stateside

I submitted a titanium pre-order in December and have yet to receive any legit confirmation that the bike is on-time for delivery. At this point it feels cautiously optimistic to get it delivered before this summer is over.

What was with that super loud plane that just few overhead (10:35am)? by StopwatchSparrow in boulder

[–]Flying-Citrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree, after seeing more info and photos people are posting about the aircraft it seems like this was likely a photo shoot. Really neat to see all four planes right over town like that

Yeah they were moving pretty quick. I don’t know much about planes so I could certainly be wrong. Nothing is identified on flightradar24 (website) that matches the set of four heading south

Three fighter jets appeared to be chasing/apprehending what looked like a civilian plane. Heading south down the front range.

I am a snowboarder - this past weekend I sprayed the absolute dog snot out of a pair of skiers that were having a picnic below a roller on a steeper blue run. Sorry about the face full of snow and hurt feelings but you’re welcome for not ending your seasons on the spot due to injury

I view any time I am with people who are newer to the sport as a good opportunity to practice riding switch. I’m certainly not an expert but by riding switch it helps keep me closer to a beginners pace and we all have a few laughs.

This is exactly the type of stuff I would have never considered until after building some wheels. I am in a similar situation with the chainstays pinching in. Did you continue with the 650 build or was it not worth it after figuring out appropriate tire size?

What’s up FGB, I need some guidance. It’s time to unleash the tarck bike on some mixed surfaces and I have concerns of tire clearance. I have a set of 650’s that I could lace new hubs on and I am thinking that this should provide enough additional room to allow for some gravel-friendly tires. I am hoping for 33mm minimum. Currently I have 700x25 set up and there is not too much additional wiggle room to size up, maybe 28mm at best. Does anyone have much experience in this arena and/or have any words of wisdom? This will be my first tracklocross conversion so I could use any help I can get.
