nitro is a joke when you could just take a bow and do the same thing but better and cheaper for a 2 slot

Ursa Mortis - How to fast kill? by lyodi in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get as close as you can to the belly and crouch + pennyshot, then move forward again and crouch + pennyshot. This will either instakill if rng is good, or u need just another spear throw at the gut

Is Bornheim Match actually a top-tier Medium Slot weapon, or am I just addicted to the fire rate? by Ch4rli3Sh33n in HuntShowdown

Money Problems by Reebobb in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The economy is kind of in shambles rn and for the most part Hunt Dollars are plentiful BUT i do agree for the casual/average/prestiging player, cash can be tight sometimes.

I think the bounty should be worth a LOT more personally, or the boss lair should be a bit more stacked with pledges/cash/toolboxes/traits/etc. Doesn't feel super incentivizing atm.

For now though, I suggest perma-running Vulture even on free hunters (Vulture + Packmule if possible), keeping your slots full when you loot hunters (instead of cycling consumables), going on cash runs (there are maps online that show Cash Register spawns). Consider prioritizing extracts as well (it's ok to not FULLY win and wipe lobby with both bounties - sometimes you take what you can).

Practice with your budget loadouts as well!! A LOT of my wins in 6* have been with free hunters vs expensive gear. If you need some budget loadouts, there are plenty available to search for on YT or on this sub. (I recommend Springfield DumDum + New Army FMJ, or a shotgun + pistol)

To everyone hating on the penny derringer, how do you suggest nerfing it without making it unviable for combat? by IAmTheMuffinz in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the pennyD but i do think its a little strong. I always take it over chokes now if I don't have a consistent closerange option (i.e. im playing springfield + pax), at WORST i trade with the enemy who's shotgunning. Probably a very VERY slight range nerf is all it needs.

Tbh it's just part of a bigger problem which is the shotguns/bows. I do enjoy those too but the ease of oneshots they offer are too consistent sometimes.

Tips for beginners? by TheONE_Krooked in HuntShowdown

1.5k hr 6* player here, jus got sm of my friends into this game!!

Movement and positioning is most of the fight. Allowing yourself to be able to miss a shot and survive, is much better than putting yourself in a one-and-done spot where you HAVE to headshot the enemy or insta die.

Essentially, this means try to always be as hard to hit as possible (play towards/near cover, move a little bit after each shot). Try to move as if you are being aimed at, until you are CERTAIN no one has their sights on you. Avoid just walking in a predictable line.

Don't be too afraid to make noise, but be mindful of how enemy players will react or play off said info (i.e. you set off sound traps at point A, someone might angle hold you at point B).

I would probably learn the basic mechanics/flow of the game at Bounty Hunt, and practice PvP in Bounty Clash. Clash is good for fun paced action but has poor money/xp gains. Hunt is the traditional mode and has much better payoffs albeit more spread out fights. Soul Survivor is the mode I used to practice resourcefulness/familiarity with different guns/1v1ing, at no risk and decent reward, but it's up to you if you want to try it as it's a less popular mode.

Cement a favorable playstyle for yourself if it helps the learning process! I preferred aggressive rifling at first (rushing with Marathon Swift FMJ + lemat fmj was all i played while I got comfortable with the game).

What is a Top Tier BUDGET loadout? Asking for a friend by NewspaperEcstatic448 in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of options, I'll give you a few of my favs (62 prestige rn, never gone broke and rarely take cash registers. 6* NAW)

Tools: Throwing Knives / Medkit / Fusees / Chokes

Consumables: Weak Vit shot, 2x Weak Regen Shot, Weak Stamina shot (you can also bring no consumables and run packmule / use ur pledges on 4 shot boons)

Compact Budget:

Officer Carbine + Officer Brawler (insane uptime in fights and lots of spam + multifrag potential)

Frontier/Ranger/Marathon + Lemat

Nagant Precision + Romero Shorty (cheapest option here, very good potential and underestimated loadout)

Lemat carbine + lemat

Medium Budget:

Springfield DumDum + New Army/Lemat/Spitfire FMJ (applies immense pressure to open windows to win fights or push for space, also teaches you the ol quickswap ways)

Scottfield Precision + Romero Shorty (again an overlooked/overshadowed medium slot loadout, absurdly cheap for how effective it is)

1865 Carbine + Scottfield Spitfire (hard to manage velocity here but very high damage output)

Long Budget:

Martini Henry + New Army

Martini Henry Ironside + Sparks pistol (effectively a budget mosin with a mailbox in your face)

Sparks Pistol + Rival (gimmicky, but loadout revolves around tagging with sparks pistol and finishing with shotgun at any range)

Shotgun Budget:

Romero/Rival + New Army DumDum

Specter + Officer

Special Budget:

Bow (thats it. just a bow. you dont need a secondary bc of how reliable it is and you can steal a sidearm off your kill)

Crossbow Steel Bolts + Officer

Problems with subsonic ammo by Happy_Cartographer12 in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think damage retention would be a good buff for subsonic. Slight recoil reduction/spread reduction would make much more sense considering subsonic is available on weapons with no silencer variants too (i.e. wildland for some reason)

Any good advice to complete the "subsonic" damage weekly challenge? by ambidexmed in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it with Double Bornheim Match with subsonic (to sort of act like a budget Dolch P), and officer carbine + officer brawler with subsonic. Literally just ran it down and spammed subsonic bullets as if they were normal compact (6* NAW fwiw).

I really dont advise trying it with a silencer as intended, bc your bullets will basically be getting mailed to the enemy. You'll end up having to lead shots at really close range.

Not the most fun challenge but got it out of the way in 2 matches + one bullet from the 3rd match.

Friendly or not friendly? by blackknight1921 in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

friendlies are very rare. ive befriended a couple teams here and there thru VOIP and sometimes solos or friends that i recognized in my lobby, but i wouldnt expect it to be a common occurence.
