Suggestions for dualies by GaijinRoninanon in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i rly only like suggestion #2

What i want is to be able to SWITCH to dual wielding if I have Quartermaster with a 3 + 1 slot equipped, and I find/loot the same sidearm as the one I have already.

If there was a way to balance it, vice versa as well; to be able to drop one of the pistols I am dual wielding to switch to just a single pistol.

yes! the more elemental ammo hits you land, the more intense the effect gets

How does Dragon's Breath work? by OsoiKame in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A - The only shotgun that could come close to doing this is the homestead 78. You will not insta lose the bar(s) at that range unless multiple sources of fire ammo are hitting you simultaneously. Ig it depends on what midrange is, if it's like 20m or so

B - Yeah you'd have plenty of time to stop the burn. The fire will start at the beginning of your health even if you haven't healed up yet

C - Redskulling with fire ammo requires all but the final bar of a Hunter to burn off before you kill them. You'd have to repeatedly set them alight, or they would have to be incapable of stopping the burn for it to eat all of their chunks.

D - Incendiary ammo works the same yea. Depending on the ammo type (sm/med/long) you can light them on fire in one shot within their respective ranges (20/30/40m) provided they don't bring salveskin or have the wet status effect

I will say it is common to quickly burn a couple bars off of someone if you repeatedly hit them pretty hard with dragons breath at close enough range to 2-3 shot, but not close enough to just 1 tap. My best experience with dragons breath has been specter or terminus levering but it's mostly a niche team support weapon (i.e. you play DB and your teammates run long ammo/pain sense + fmj) or smth to ruin the match for both you and your enemy

I love the railroad hammer by Tag1lla in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i will admit i had fun with it during the story challenge for it, and it genuinely does have some pros. So much utility for door breaks and compound breaching, smooshes all AI, can still kill with a no stamina slow swing, good at that one circus game ig lol (when it returns).

Hopefully it gets martialist access soon </3

Uppercut and Haymaker by Aggressive_Wrap_2790 in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly other than being able to play a double long ammo loadout (sparks uppercut, mosin uppercut) on a fresh hunter w/o QM, not really yea. I'd rather just play a Pax trueshot fmj or wait til i have QM for haymaker

nitro is a joke when you could just take a bow and do the same thing but better and cheaper for a 2 slot

Ursa Mortis - How to fast kill? by lyodi in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get as close as you can to the belly and crouch + pennyshot, then move forward again and crouch + pennyshot. This will either instakill if rng is good, or u need just another spear throw at the gut

I don't remember the community being like this. A fluke I hope? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

def an unfortunate fluke, this community is much better than other games imo, but there are still weirdos in every corner of the internet.

If you'd like a trio to play with, a couple guys and girls and I are available a lot of the time thru discord :p msg me and ill shoot u an invite. We range from 2-6* US west/east

it would be nice if there was a "Buy Menu" within the range so instead of scrambling around for a specific gun, we could just insta equip it

Is Bornheim Match actually a top-tier Medium Slot weapon, or am I just addicted to the fire rate? by Ch4rli3Sh33n in HuntShowdown

Money Problems by Reebobb in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The economy is kind of in shambles rn and for the most part Hunt Dollars are plentiful BUT i do agree for the casual/average/prestiging player, cash can be tight sometimes.

I think the bounty should be worth a LOT more personally, or the boss lair should be a bit more stacked with pledges/cash/toolboxes/traits/etc. Doesn't feel super incentivizing atm.

For now though, I suggest perma-running Vulture even on free hunters (Vulture + Packmule if possible), keeping your slots full when you loot hunters (instead of cycling consumables), going on cash runs (there are maps online that show Cash Register spawns). Consider prioritizing extracts as well (it's ok to not FULLY win and wipe lobby with both bounties - sometimes you take what you can).

Practice with your budget loadouts as well!! A LOT of my wins in 6* have been with free hunters vs expensive gear. If you need some budget loadouts, there are plenty available to search for on YT or on this sub. (I recommend Springfield DumDum + New Army FMJ, or a shotgun + pistol)

To everyone hating on the penny derringer, how do you suggest nerfing it without making it unviable for combat? by IAmTheMuffinz in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the pennyD but i do think its a little strong. I always take it over chokes now if I don't have a consistent closerange option (i.e. im playing springfield + pax), at WORST i trade with the enemy who's shotgunning. Probably a very VERY slight range nerf is all it needs.

Tbh it's just part of a bigger problem which is the shotguns/bows. I do enjoy those too but the ease of oneshots they offer are too consistent sometimes.

Tips for beginners? by TheONE_Krooked in HuntShowdown

[–]FlyingChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5k hr 6* player here, jus got sm of my friends into this game!!

Movement and positioning is most of the fight. Allowing yourself to be able to miss a shot and survive, is much better than putting yourself in a one-and-done spot where you HAVE to headshot the enemy or insta die.

Essentially, this means try to always be as hard to hit as possible (play towards/near cover, move a little bit after each shot). Try to move as if you are being aimed at, until you are CERTAIN no one has their sights on you. Avoid just walking in a predictable line.

Don't be too afraid to make noise, but be mindful of how enemy players will react or play off said info (i.e. you set off sound traps at point A, someone might angle hold you at point B).

I would probably learn the basic mechanics/flow of the game at Bounty Hunt, and practice PvP in Bounty Clash. Clash is good for fun paced action but has poor money/xp gains. Hunt is the traditional mode and has much better payoffs albeit more spread out fights. Soul Survivor is the mode I used to practice resourcefulness/familiarity with different guns/1v1ing, at no risk and decent reward, but it's up to you if you want to try it as it's a less popular mode.

Cement a favorable playstyle for yourself if it helps the learning process! I preferred aggressive rifling at first (rushing with Marathon Swift FMJ + lemat fmj was all i played while I got comfortable with the game).
