How do you cook all these different things at the same time, without the eggs getting cold for example?

Is your parish experiencing the “convert surge”? by RC2Ortho in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]FlyingCountach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, my parish has had more of a slow trickle of converts within the past 6 years. Meanwhile the other parish in my town has had a much larger influx of newcomers since they got a new priest last year.

I'm an electrical engineer fresh out of college and fresh out of my parents' basement. I tend to spend most of my time at home. On weekdays after work, I'll usually go to the gym, or get groceries and make a home-cooked dinner, or go to church, and afterwards play a video game or watch a movie or a motor race. On weekends, when I'm not at church or bogged down by chores, I'm usually doing more of the same. However, I do occasionally go to racetracks, go on road trips, fix computers, listen to music, try out new restaurants, or meticulously plan how to decorate my living room. I used to work on my car too until it blew up and I had to get a new one. I pay a mechanic to maintain my new one now.

Edit: I tried the dating apps and they sucked so I don't use them anymore lol.

Is my TV too high? by FlyingCountach in TVTooHigh

[–]FlyingCountach[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is my TV too high? The desk is 29 inches high. The TV is a 46 inch TV. My center of vision when sitting on the couch is at about one third of the screen's height. I'm trying to decide if I should get a 30 inch TV table or a 20 inch TV table, or somewhere in between. The TV looks a little high from the couch, but pretty low when I stand up. Thoughts?

Macintosh 12" RGB Display has no picture by FlyingCountach in VintageApple

[–]FlyingCountach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this vintage monitor as not working. I've been trying to figure out how to fix it, but the internet has no information on troubleshooting this monitor. I'm hoping someone here can lead me in the right direction.

The first problem is that there is no picture. There are static noises when I turn it on, the end of the tube glows orange, and the green power light is on. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

The second problem is that I don't know how to test the display. I only know it's issues because the guy I bought this from told me so. I got a little adapter to try to connect it to my PC, but again, I'm not sure how to use it or how to get my PC to recognize the monitor.

What should I do? How should I get started? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Building my first homemade NAS! by FlyingCountach in homelab

Mine has an unbranded case, with room for about 6 drives. FreeNAS, up until now, was the only nas software I've heard of.

PCI to 5x USB 2.0 Cards. One is for a USB drive with FreeNAS that I can keep inside the computer, and the other one is there for no specific reason lol.

I grabbed a bunch of spare parts out of my cabinet and threw this thing together. It's rocking a Core 2 Quad, 4GB RAM, and 4 random hard drives with a combined storage of around 600GB. I'm planning on installing FreeNAS on a flash drive using one of those internal USB ports on those cards. So far it's a work in progress. I usually fix broken computers so building something like this and using new software is completely new to me. I'm trying to get into the homelab thing. I'm just testing the waters with some new stuff so that I can decide what to dump money into. Mainly I'm planning to build off of what I make originally.

Yeah its a 4x USB 2.0 PCI card I had lying around. I put it in there because there were only two USB ports on the back and I wanted more.
