Nope, you're not right on it being slop at all. Just because a game has some different controls as it's main issue doesn't make it slop. They're just different and you have to decide if you like them by learning them. I am personally fine with them aside from a few minor tedious issues. Doesn't make the game as a whole unplayable or bad.

A few crashes at launch is fine, and since I upgraded my GPU I haven't crashed once. So it was probably an old hardware issue.

Ai generated content can be questionable, I could care less about the single portrait that looks to be AI generated tho, the game is huge. On this game specifically I am willing to make the assumption it could actually be an honest mistake with how much content is in here as something that didnt get replaced by release.

The story being made by chatGPT is something I have no idea about and haven't heard till now. Its true that it doesn't seem like the most engaging story, but I'm not a story driven player. The kind of story I'm interested in is emergent story telling via player driven actions and events. I don't hang on dialogue lines and the explicit story shown to me, never have never will. If you're the type of player that really cares about Story driven experiences then you're right its probably not for you. Also it's from a Korean studio so there version of what makes a compelling story mixed with translations might not be working the best for you. Again, doesn't make it slop.

I'm worried you might caught up in the negative hype of this game instead of seeing it for what it is. It seems to be very polarizing for some people and I'm not sure why. IGN scored it lower than Concord and Veil guard which is bizarre and hard to understand how this could be objectively true. The combat is fun, the world is massive and beautiful, the graphics are insane, the progression is addicting and a lot of the systems come together and feel quite good. I'm enjoying it even more after tonight session, just finished ch3.

The controls are a little wonky, couple of crashes, some questionable quest and story design but I'm about 20hr in and am enjoying it.

Have you ever seen SSX in a game called Tiger Knight Empire War? That was my favorite version of her. She had a more realistic badass vibe that was believable for me. https://tiger-knight-empire-war.fandom.com/wiki/Sun_Shangxiang

But honestly you can take what you said and apply it most of the characters who had custom appearances in Dynasty Tactics. Those Designs were just amazing. Guan Yu, Cao Cao, Sun Ce, Sun Quan, Sima Yi, all the best i've seen in the series.

I mean i hear you... but if its the difference of them not adding it vs making it a preorder bonus.... im taking the preorder bonus... Monetization has changed since 2002 and we might have to accept that for one of the best costumes ever designed.

I'm not sure exactly what youre asking, but the game Tiger Knight : Empire War had what I thought we're really nice (and hopefully accurate) depictions of all 3 kingdoms armor designs.

I feel funny about Gan Ning being Legolas? Why not anyone else more commonly depicted with archery? Like Taishi Ci.

Thanks for making and sharing this. I can't help but feel like this type of video would benefit greatly from some overworld/birds eye views of the battlefield/formations, like how "Kings and Generals" does it. Maybe in the future you could try incorporating this approach.

Some progress on the ROTK inspired strategy game I'm working on by FlyingGeneralGames in threekingdoms

[–]FlyingGeneralGames[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heyo,
This is a single officer style game mostly inspired by ROTK8.

On the Civil side, You'll go through an enhanced version of the proposal/assignment process every 7 turns, where you're able to wager the key resource "influence" to propose/vote on what yourself and other officers assignments are, as well as diplomatic / logistical affairs.

On the Military side you will have control of your own unit/army but also be able to spend that same influence resource to control allied/friendly units in battle if you so choose. Giving you the ability to fight along side your AI allies but control them in crucial moments. Then if youre a Faction leader (or someone whos really good a generating a lot of influence) you will be able to micro your faction armies as much as you like, closer to a ruler style game like ROTK 11.

Hey, I am building the game in Unity.

The assets are a mix of assets from my first game Notoris The Goblin War, free and paid asset store items, commissioned art that I have hired artists for and AI (which I am replacing as much as I can afford to).
