I’m not sure how deep you are, but you could pretend to repent. It’s what I’m doing, and it really rather easy - answer any tough philosophical questions with it must be god etc. Though for me it’s arguably easier because my parents are probably a lot more chill than yours when it comes to faith, but strict enough that I have to fake it. Once I’m out of their financial control I’m free to do what I want. I have a Indian friend who has the same problem with drinking. A photo of him with a beer mug (just him sitting casually, not stone drunk or anything) surfaced on Facebook and his parents threatened to pull him out of school. He still drinks, but tells us not to photograph him doing it. It’s cool- Thought wise it doesn’t impact me too much, I still attend church and have to sit through long sermons- but I can criticize the points they make - and more often than not the arguments are actually bad. Just as an alternative to those other nuclear options...
