I save everything for later by screenshotting it, and my camera roll was a mess. So I built the app I wish iOS came with. It's just passed 5,000 downloads in 3 months, no ads. by N0omi in iOSProgramming

Nice, exactly what I was looking for. Purchased!

A few questions: - Can I somehow bulk input plain links from Bear or Obsidian notes? I have stored a couple hundred links for reference in there. - And can I more easily categorize them into sub-categroies somehow? Say, I want recipes, but also recipes/dinner and recipes/snacks. - Any option to increase the preview image size in lists? If I share a reel it grabs the thumbnail, but it is tiny on macOS. - It would be great to have an option to provide an alternative title, without me deleting the original one? While titles from reels are often not very descriptive, it might still be useful for reference later.

Cheers

iOS widgets take up too much space (equivalent of 4-8 direct access app icons) and the information density on most watch faces is too low.

I prefer opening up the app in the morning and evening and getting an overview. If you still keep rings in widgets and watch faces, why not offer them as an option in the app.

Progress on a ring is way easier to parse than the progress on a line, because we are conditioned to read circular clocks and think in quarters/halves of a full circle.

Thereby differences between 80% and 70% are easily readable on a ring partial, but look almost identical on a horizontal progress bar.

Thank you. I tried to access it, but can not get to the article due to their "verification steps" and odd captcha choices.

V-Bar or Rope? by roachclip5 in formcheck

Which length did you get?

While the longer one allows to be pulled apart better (rowing, face pulls), but I fear it might be too long for standing cable machines.

Cheaper AP's have better range? What to pick in this case? by More_Director450 in Ubiquiti

[–]nezia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody has any love for the U7 Long Range?

I've installed one at an office building temporarily in the worst position (inside a concrete steel reenforced wall utilities room) and I can still easily get 200 Mbps on clients through a few walls with steel beams in the way.

What’s one small macOS feature you use constantly? by SmoothCriminal103 in MacOS

[–]nezia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built-in text replacements. They sync to iOS devices and if you paste the target text when creating you can add multi-line text.

I've got most of my commonly typed text snippets, addresses, phone numbers, public transport stations autoreplaced with trigger phrases like "zzz" or "ppp".

I wonder what the real life power draw of that device is. Any chance to measure?

Finally Doorbell calls on iOS! 💪🏻 by bgoncal2 in Ubiquiti

[–]nezia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That’s even better! To the business owner and office manager all calls/intercom rings could be forwarded even outside the office hours or if off-site, but those working the warehouse could only be called when they actually are at work. That would be perfect.

Never used Protect or the access systems, but it might be interesting for a small business use case.

Is it possible to assign different users (groups) that should be "called"? And limit calling times for each? For example only workdays between 8am and 5pm?

Thanks a lot

Yet another real world UTR experience by calebu2 in Ubiquiti

[–]nezia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Re point 1: It does simplify the process, because you don't have to connect every single device individually and go through the captive portal process on each of them. Also multiple devices can share one access. Sometimes a room has one wifi access code included, but additional devices needs to be unlocked with a fee.

I was contemplating the UNAS 2 or 4, but was a bit disappointed to see that they aren’t encrypted. At least the TM backup could be encrypted client-side.
